We have both been to Las Vegas many times, and like it, but we are not devoted gamblers. I would hate to go to HKG and miss Macau if it is anything more than Vegas east...which from reading alot it seems to be, with copies of many LV casinos...our other option is to spend an extra day in TPE, and explore that area. Right now we have 3 nights in HKG, and 1 night in TPE. Does anyone have any great words of wisdom that could be of assistance?

Departing 12/27 on CX508 at 4:30pm
Business Class
Is there a quick immigration line? Where?

There is no Arrivals Lounge, or one easy to get too. So better to head straight to the AE express, are the signs easy to follow?

Looks like I need to buy the 2 way AE ticket and that should get me to the shopping center at the "W".
I do not have to buy a ticket before boarding I can do that a final stop(kowloon station??)

Current reservation is a free night voucher at The "W"
Can likely change to Sheraton if that might be better location.
Though the W looks more to my liking and it's new

Will the W give me a good view of the Harbor?
Will there be any night life in that area at arrival hour(10:30p)
Will I be able to get out and about the morning of the 27th easily?

What are the must see "Things to do" given my short time frame?
I enjoy being on the water, so a ferry trip is likely need, where to catch and which trip is best?
Also would guess one of the tram trips up the hill is worth doing.
There is also the hop-on\hop-off bus. Worth doing?
Would I have time to get a couple tailored shirts made?(suit possible?)

I likely need to be on the 2:20pm AE back to the Airport, correct? Or should I plan for sooner than this.

Should I worry\try to print my return boarding pass while I'm at the airport during arrival or just do it upon return.
Which is the best departures lounge.

Thanks for any\all help\guidance

Can someone point me to where I can find HK/Kowloon/NT bus route maps?

I'm looking for interesting/long bus routes where I can just ride on and take in the sights.

This is my 4th trip to HK since emigrating 3 decades ago, and I've seen most of the popular tourist sights, so I'm looking for a more cultural/local experience. So any recommendation on which bus to take would be appreciated.

I've already taken all the "ding ding" (The $2 cable car on HK island) routes. I've also taken most of the "light rail" in the Tuen Moon area... I'm now looking for bus routes mainly on the (less explored to me) HK island side and maybe the "country-side" of NT.

The best resource I can find is on Wikipedia, with all the bus routes (originating and destination and price), but the names are in English, and I find it difficult to translate/use. A map would be nice... If this is available at the bus terminal, I'll be happy to go pick it up!

Thanks in advance!

Sorry to semi-duplicate several other recent threads but this seemed different enough to get its own thread. If not mods please merge/move/etc.

I have a 4pm meeting in Hong Kong on Monday (Causeway Bay area). I am flying in to HKG from PEK that morning, arriving around 1pm, and departing around 8pm that same day. The meeting is one for which I have to look presentable (suit, etc) and I was planning to carry (not wear) the suit on the 3.5 hr flight from PEK, then change in a lounge at HKG on arrival. I'm on CA but should have access to any *A lounge (or RCC as I'm a member). Will I have physical access to lounges after arrival or do I need to clear customs first?

Is a taxi my best bet for going to and from the meeting?

Alternatively I can simply wear the suit (prefer not to) or change on the plane, but it seemed like changing on arrival was the best bet.

Also alternatively I can fly in on Sunday but prefer not to move all my stuff from my PEK hotel for one day, or pay for two hotels on the same night.

Comments or thoughts welcome.

I'm going to be in HK with my wife for a friend's wedding in November. With all the wedding events, my wife and I really only have one free night to go have a great dinner on our own. No real price limit--just want to have the best Chinese food we can. Any recommendations? We'll be staying in the Causeway Bay area, so any suggestions in that neighborhood would be particularly appreciated.

I read the article 'Advice to Travellers' posted on the Hong Kong Customs website -- three times. They make no mention of prohibiting travelers from bringing FRESH fruits into Hong Kong.

Since there is an omission, I wanted to as this forum if there is such restriction OR that I can bring the fresh fruit without penalty|confiscation.

I've been told by one HK local that I CAN bring in fresh fruits because there are no farmlands in HK. Yet reading a Yahoo posting, a few people (who didn't say where they are from or who they are) said no, but hadn't cited any authority.

I'm hoping that I can find out what the reality is.

Thanks!

So is it feasible to get down town, go up the Peak, go on a Star Ferry and get back to the airport?
