I'm going to guess most domestic FS marriotts will have their CL's closed on Thanksgiving day and the day after

My question is referencing B/F coupons for Plats.

the policy says:
Guaranteed Lounge Access/Free Continental Breakfast
Help yourself to light snacks, beverages and complimentary continental breakfast in our Concierge/Executive Club Lounge at participating Marriott Hotels, JW Marriott Hotels, or Renaissance Hotels. For Marriott Hotels, JW Marriott Hotels, or Renaissance Hotels without a Concierge/Executive Club Lounge, we invite you to enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast on your weekday stays, Monday-Friday. Just show your membership card and room key in the hotel restaurant. We guarantee you will always receive access to either the lounge during normal hours of operation or complimentary breakfast, or we will reimburse you $100 USD at full-service hotels. (Not available at resort locations)

I assume I should receive access to BF coupons for those days if the lounge is closed on one/both of those days. However if the property for some reason denies coupons, will I be eligible for the $100 reimbursement? No its not a resort property. If so at what point does one make the request for the $100? at the time of denial which would be check in or the next a.m. before b/f? at checkout?

fyi, i've never requested any type of marriott guarantee so I'm not sure exactly at what point this should be asked. However I just have a gut feeling this property will try to get out of giving b/f coupons hence the preparation up front.

We're currently booked at the Chicago Renaissance (1 Wacker Drive) For Thanksgiving (Thu/Fri). I was surfing around and saw that we can get into the Blackstone at a great rate as well. Has anyone stayed in both for comparison? Of course people have, this is FT!

I'll be travelling with wife and 3YO daughter. We're looking at mainly using the pool and heading to a few museums. We're not the shopping types so Mich Ave isnt a factor.

Also, I recently got upgraded from silver to gold. ^
However, I was reading that the lounges will be closed on holidays and weekends? :td: Bummer, I was hoping to try it out since I've never been gold before; and sadly this was going to be my first stay at a hotel with the lounge levels. I was so looking forward to it.

I'm visiting Beijing later this month for a combination of business and sightseeing, and wondering which hotel to stay at. It looks like past threads on Beijing Marriotts are either old or unanswered.

For the business portion of my trip I am planning on staying at the Courtyard Beijing Northeast. It is close to where I will be working, and I've heard from a colleague that it's a very nice hotel. How do they treat elites there -- as a platinum should I expect an upgrade to the concierge level (or at least lounge access)?

For the sightseeing portion of my trip I'm trying to pick a hotel closer to downtown and tourist destinations. I'm considering Courtyard Beijing, Marriott City Wall, and maybe Renaissance Capital and Marriott Beijing West. The CY Beijing is very inexpensive and seems well located, but some posts from years ago indicate that elites are not treated well there. Any updates from visits in recent months?

What about the location of the other properties? I'm looking to stay close to typical tourist sights such as the Forbidden City, People's Square, Summer Palace, etc. I know that it's cheap to get around by taxi, but I'd prefer not to stay on the outskirts of town and spend 45 minutes riding each way everyday.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions. I'll post my own findings in a few weeks when I'm there.

Mrs, and I are heading to Palm Desert, CA for a long weekend this Feb. It is the first time to the area for us.

Purpose of the trip is: 1) Relax w/o the kids :p and 2) scope out the area and MVCI properties and see if we want to return with the kids next year as a family vacation.

Help me choose between the 4 MVCI properties in the area:
Shadow Ridge I - The Villages
Shadow Ridge II - The Enclaves
Desert Springs Villas I
Desert Springs Villas II

Note, Shadow Ridge I/II is $70 less per night than Desert Springs Villas I/II.

I read about the JW Marriott pool access if you stay at Desert Springs Villas I. We plan to hit the SPA at the JW anyways 1 day so don't know if this is really a big deal for us since we "should" get pool access. Also, isn't it a little chilly for the outdoor pool in Feb?

Property and trip suggestions and comments welcome.

I am staying in the Courtyard Sacramento on Y Street. On a side note, this room is horrible.

Anyway, this evening I noticed that my $120 bluetooth headset has gone missing sometime in the last day and a half. Of course, I can't remember the exact last time I saw it. I do know it hasn't left this hotel room. The last time I saw it, it was sitting on my desk. I have searched everywhere in the room, my pockets, in my baggage...everywhere.

One time I had a maid put my power chargers in a nightstand drawer. I understood they were just trying to be nice, but I was surprised I didn't forget them.

I went to the front desk and let them know that I couldn't find it. That I thought it was on my desk and now it's gone. The more I think about it, the more I second guess myself. I have stayed about 200 nights in hotels this year without having something like this happen.

What should I do?

Hi, here's the situation if anyone can offer some help/insights it would be really great!

My girlfriend and I are going tp spend New Years Eve at the Marriott in Sugarland, TX. She is Marriott Platinum and we are hoping to make the reservation under her in hopes of a room upgrade. I, on the other hand, was Silver until they extended the "Taste of Gold" promotion to me. I've stayed 9 of the 10 nights needed to keep Gold Status through Feb 2011 and could use this final night (prmotion ends 01/01/2010) to meet the threshold.

Would it be possible for my girlfriend to make the reservation, then at check-in have my Marriott number put on the account so that the day counts towards my "Taste of Gold"?

If not, is there any other way to make this happen?

Hi everyone,

I hope you don't mind that I post these questions in here. I think this is the internet forum where my questions will be read by more people who have actually stayed at the Renaissance Cologne - even though you're all likely to be diamond status...

I paid €160/room for 3 nights in December via Priceline, and though we are enrolled in the Marriott Rewards programme we have yet to stay in one. I have been reading this is worn and in need of renovations. Though Priceline classed this as a 5 star hotel (and yes, I was aiming for the Marriott). I am bringing my parents along and would like this to be a memorable stay.

I read on Tripadvisor that someone had paid €45 for the Club Package (breakfast, mini bar, lounge). This seems "cheap" given that breakfast seems to be €25 each. My questions are as follows: will I be offered this possibility upon arrival (with availibility) or am I better off contacting them in advance? Is it more expensive at check-in? With Club Package are rooms better?

Are there places nearby for cheaper breakfast?

Does anyone have experience with upgrades at check-in, and I mean paid upgrades since I don't have any rewards status.

Parking: it says Off-site parking, fee: 1.6 EUR hourly, 14 EUR daily Is this near the hotel?

Any other tips to make this a pleasant stay would be appreciated.

Thanks everyone in advance.

PS: If this post should have been made elsewhere, my apologies and thanks in advance for moving it.
