When the Delta 3K miles promo first came out I started looking at rentals from Budget to pad my Skymiles account. Since I am self employed, I sgned up for the Budget small biz program that pays back $2.00 on every rental then I noticed that Budget also returns 3.0% if the reservation is made via FatWallet.com. I kind of forgot about it, until I opened yesterday's mail and found a check from Budget for $10 - five rentals last month. I just checked my FatWallet account and I have another $17 coming in from my rentals. I know that is not much but when you rent 3-4 times a month, it adds up.

I also travel to Austin, TX quite a bit and they have them there as well. So I call Budget and they tell me that OKC does not inventory Cameros. I ask them to check Austin. None there either they tell me. I call both locations directly and they tell me of course they have them. But they tell me to book on the (800) number, since it will be cheaper. I call Budget back but get the same runaround. Any ideas?

Cheaper to rent a car in Maui than Phoenix?

Hello, I will be attending a conference in Nov from 11/10 to 11/16 in Mesa, Arizona and from Arizona will be going to Maui from 11/16 to 11/23. I booked a full size car in Maui for $235 total for the 6 days. When I tried to book the car in...

Hello, I will be attending a conference in Nov from 11/10 to 11/16 in Mesa, Arizona and from Arizona will be going to Maui from 11/16 to 11/23. I booked a full size car in Maui for $235 total for the 6 days. When I tried to book the car in Phoenix, the rates are consistantly over $350, the fees and taxes are more than $125, I think the rates are too high!

Since the conference is in Mesa, I will need transportation to/from PHX airport and I would like to have a car to do some sightseeing during my break and down time from the conference.

I have never booked a car through Hotwire or Priceline, do you think the rates would be cheaper? Calling Budgets 800 line only gets me the same rate even with my AAA or BJ's discount. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks
