I seem to recall a website that you could plug your home city into and some dates and it would tell you where you could go, for how much. I suspect that was only US based though.

I've begun looking at various beach locations, ski locations, general tourist locations, etc, and at this point just want a list of places outside Japan to choose from. I even tried keying in some "local" places in Russia as that would be a hoot, but Russia is not easily accessible as it turns out.

Any ideas on a tool I can use? (Or specific ideas)

I wouldn't mind stopping off in London for a few days to visit my friend. I'm NOT checking a bag. I'll take hand luggage. Then make my own way to Dublin later.

Will I have a problem with the return from Dublin? How, for example, will Aer Lingus in Dublin on the return, "know" that I didn't use the Bmi flight from LHR to DUB?

If I were to call United Airlines now, would their system be "aware" of the other flights on this ticket, with Bmi and Aer Lingus? Or, do only Orbitz "know" about my other flights - and would Orbitz cancel them?

Sorry if this has already been discussed as nauseum. I just thought this might be a slightly unusual case I have here with different carriers.

What if I want a B class ticket on the selected route ? Do I really have to call the airline every time I want to book specific class ?

I'm sure sophisticated booking website would allow users to select specific booking class ?

I had to change my outgoing flight and instead of paying their penalties to change it, i bought a new flight on yet ANOTHER carrier.

I recently learned that if you have a round trip ticket and don't take the first leg of your trip, the return portion is automatically canceled. Is this true even when it is different carriers?
