Well, I checked into biddingfortravel.com after a two year absence, and was shocked to see only three entries during the last month for a major US city. Previously, there would have been dozens. I then discovered that my account (not my IP) was banned, and couldn't seem to find anyone to tell me why. I've never had any run-ins with her, other than being scolded for not mentioning that I used Amazing-Bargains in my posts. As far as I know, she has no way to know who uses her click-through, and who doesn't. (For the record, I use the link if I remember.) I've posted dozens of wins over the past ten years or so.

Now this is probably old news in this forum, but Sheryl posted that she was sick and has been absent for nearly a half year. The few moderators seem to be flailing about blindly, and claim they don't know what her status is. Is she even still alive?

Hi. Family of 4 here. Tokyo based. Want to leave Tokyo for 6 days either immediately before, or immediately after Christmas day. There are, of course, many places we dont want to go for various reasons (been there before, civil unrest, etc), but generally we're not going to be picky on the usual things - hot/cold, culture/relaxation, need for visas, etc.

I seem to recall a website that you could plug your home city into and some dates and it would tell you where you could go, for how much. I suspect that was only US based though.

I've begun looking at various beach locations, ski locations, general tourist locations, etc, and at this point just want a list of places outside Japan to choose from. I even tried keying in some "local" places in Russia as that would be a hoot, but Russia is not easily accessible as it turns out.

Any ideas on a tool I can use? (Or specific ideas)

Thanks.

The hotel booking links to reservations.washington.org, and it's showing rates that are half of Orbitz's, so I'm wondering if it's a legitimate site.
Does anyone have any experience booking a hotel through this website? Thanks.

I've booked a round-trip SFO-DUB via LHR that goes like this:

SFO-LHR: United Airlines
LHR-DUB: Bmi (British Midland)
DUB-LHR: Aer Lingus
LHR-SFO: United Airlines

It was booked through Orbitz.

I wouldn't mind stopping off in London for a few days to visit my friend. I'm NOT checking a bag. I'll take hand luggage. Then make my own way to Dublin later.

Will I have a problem with the return from Dublin? How, for example, will Aer Lingus in Dublin on the return, "know" that I didn't use the Bmi flight from LHR to DUB?

If I were to call United Airlines now, would their system be "aware" of the other flights on this ticket, with Bmi and Aer Lingus? Or, do only Orbitz "know" about my other flights - and would Orbitz cancel them?

Sorry if this has already been discussed as nauseum. I just thought this might be a slightly unusual case I have here with different carriers.

Thanks. Great site!

Hi !

I'm looking for a convenient booking engine which lets you choose which booking class you'd like to book.

Traditional booking engines like Expedia will automatically optimize the search to book the lowest available fare for the route selected.

What if I want a B class ticket on the selected route ? Do I really have to call the airline every time I want to book specific class ?

I'm sure sophisticated booking website would allow users to select specific booking class ?

Thanks for your help !

I recently learned that if you have a round trip ticket and don't take the first leg of your trip, the return portion is automatically canceled. Is this true even when it is different carriers?
