Event ran pretty well, far better than DC last December. Learned some lessons there that assisted greatly in better managing the crowds.
Still had FTU attendees trying to sneak into Advanced, but all FTUA attendees had a bright blue wrist band, so it was easy to find the smugglers.

Small world
So I'm at the dermatologist having more skin cancer surgery. I was here right before my trip to Japan but had to come back to get more surgery. The MD asks me how Japan was and asks me about my trip next week to AMS.
She asks if I use points to travel, I say yes and she says she that she was just at her first miles and points conference. She was at FTU. So now I am going to be her mentor as she is new to the hobby. Apparently there was a medical conference at the same hotel and she found out about FTU. Luckily she was able to buy a tkt from someone that had an extra.
Defiantly a small world.

FTU DC room rate BRG
for those attending FTU DC, you can current BRG Hyatt daily rate against priceline's rate of $89 to get the rate down to about $71 per night at the HR Crystal City instead of the pre-negotiated rate of $99 per night
