Wow, finally one of these so close to where I live and in a city where I have family and spend lots of time! Unfortunately, that is the last day of a conference that I will be attending in Orlando so I won't be able to make this one! I will definitely look out for future events!

If you make it down here, send Rick or I a PM and we can grab a cup of coffee. Always up for a chat ^

Howie:
Count me in, coming from California. Your that important! Staying the weekend as well. Yes, planning another activity would be good as well as perhaps suggestions for dinner when bootcamp ends (assuming you have coupons)

For those who want an evening event, I highly recommend http://www.savannahghostlytours.com/ and the evening ghost tour. It was a great walking tour... and you can often get discounted tickets on Groupon or Living Social.

We're at 23 so far.

If anyone has any special requests of things they want to see while in Savannah or are looking for food ideas / etc let me know. Perhaps adding a Wiki may make some sense here for that.

Well... will be an exhausting weekend. Our plans are changing a bit.

Just got tickets to Garth Brooks... one of the few artists still on my bucket list.

Going to his concert in Atlanta on September 19.... and will drive the Savannah right after the concert. Gonna be tired Saturday morning!

Springhill Suites room block is closed

Just tried to book a room at the Springhill Suites Downtown/Historic District and was told the rooms were closed out on August 20.

I'm not going to pay the higher price there or at other local properties, so I won't be attending. That's too bad too, as I was going to drive in from Hilton Head and enjoy the weekend in Savannah.

Please post if you get access to more rooms at the $159 rate!

There are several options at other Savannah properties that are lower cost.... do not let not staying at the host hotel deter you from attending. We are not staying at the host hotel either....

please send me your name / email to [email protected]. I'll put you in contact with the sales manager directly to get a room reserved.

That said as wharvey said you can get cheaper rates elsewhere too ... the location however of this property is quite nice.
