Buying Gas in Crotia - Do I need a chip and pin card?

In late August, We are renting a car in Split and driving first to Plitvice and overnighting and then on to Zagreb. Are gas stations unattended? Will I need a chip and pin card? I am coming from the US and have PIN cards, but I believe they are reall y chip and signature and not true chip and pin.. Is there a gas station near the park I will be able to fill up in? Thanks in advance

... and you'll get from Split to Zagreb via Plitvice on a single tank no need to worry about filling up mid-way.

I was thinking that it probably was less than a tank..but I'm the kind that likes to think about contingencies..we are spending the night in plitvice...to work around the tour groups hopefully

Seriously, don't worry about it, you can get from Split to Plitvice, to Zagreb and then back to Plitvice on an average tank You will probably get on the highway for the way to Zagreb, and there are decent gas stations along it. No need to stress about it

Just make sure you don't grab the wrong pump handle because they are all next to each other.
