Recommendations for day-trip within 80km of AMS?
Will be flying back to Amsterdam with Etihad and have a long layover of around 7 hours before my onwards flight to MME. Will get Etihad chauffeur included (hence the 80km limit) so thought I would use it to travel somewhere interesting.. I have already visited Amsterdam but wondered if anyone could recommend somewhere nearby of interest?

If you just want to walk around a bit in a nice place, Leiden is the obvious choice - about 20 minutes from the airport by train.
Or you could check if there aren't any museums or expositions left to see in Amsterdam - having been there already doesn't mean you've seen all of it...

If you travel the coming weeks, I would suggest to visit "Keukenhof".
Our world famous flower garden.
On the way there you will see the colorful fields of tulips.
It's about 30 minutes by car from the airport to Lisse, so you will have ample time to enjoy

Another suggestion for a day trip is Utrecht.

Another vote for Utrecht. Although, be wary: Tour de France starts there this year, so first few days of July it might be a bit hectic by car.
On a positive note: the city is really trying to profile itself and there's a lot going on to promote Utrecht/Tour de France.
It's s very walkeable version of Amsterdam. The main attraction for a day trip are the Dom Tower and Oudegracht. You might want to make sure you reserve tickets in advance for Dom Under tours.
