Hugh Laurie Delayed at Serbian Border, Officials Make Souvenir Copy of Passport

Delays at border crossings can happen for any number of reasons. Yesterday, Hugh Laurie faced a rather unique situation at the Serbian border: fans... border guard fans who held onto his passport for an hour so that they could make a photocopy.

"How many Serbian border guards does it take to make a photocopy?"

^

A photocopy of a passport is so... old school.
Did none of the guards have a smartphone.
A missed selfie-with-a-celebrity opportunity...

There are at least two logical issues with Hugh Laurie's announcement.

Also, I don't know who Hugh Laurie is. Which is a possible third..

Some of us have loved him longer: Footlights, Bertie Wooster, Peter's Friends. Clearly no fans of British comedy here.

If this was one's most significant border crossing story then one either hasn't traveled much or not at all through truly "interesting" borders.

Yes, I can never watch House without wondering when Stephen Fry is going to walk in, deliver the punchline and bring this tedious sketch to an end!

To keep the post on thread: an hour for a photocopy, seriously?

Most significant and interesting are both very subjective.

It sounds like you may have been having a bit of a rough Monday yesterday, so maybe this'll help turn your week around
