Looking for a flight deal from Amsterdam to Berlin
 

Hi all,

I am new to this forum and am traveling to Amsterdam in two weeks.

I am planning to fly between Amsterdam and Berlin (round trip by air) and am looking for deals. Wanted to know what is the best and cheapest way to fly. I am open to traveling to nearby airports in Amsterdam and Berlin if I can save.

If you're planning to fly in a couple of weeks you're unlikely to find anything much below EUR 200 because it's short notice and it's peak travel time (I've just looked at some random dates for you).

The three airlines that fly the route are Easyjet, KLM and Lufthansa.

I don't think you'll be able to gain much by flying from nearby airports because by the time you've travelled to/from those other airports it'll probably be quicker to do the whole journey by train (journey time is about 6 hours)

Thanks Aviatrix! Appreciate the response. So would you suggest train as an alternative? If so will it be worth the time and saving? Also I am guessing trains take you to city centers.

The train is certainly worth looking into if you can't get a flight at a decent price.

I suggest you enter your dates into www.amadeus.net which will give you prices for all three of the airlines I mentioned (and several others that have indirect flights - some of which take all day).

Then go to www.bahn.de and check out train times.

Then decide which works out better!

And yes, the train would take you into the town centre.

Searching on www.nshispeed.nl for random dates in about 2 weeks' time, there are still pre-purchase fares of €49 each way on the train. These are on IC trains, with one easy connection. There are other, more expensive fares available on other trains (including the ICE) but with no real time advantage.

And yes, the trains are city-to-city.
