They do. My wife ordered and received two perfectly cooked fried eggs in F on EY.

"Fresh organic eggs cooked to order" seems to cover it.

We got back from the UAE this past Monday. On our AUH-JFK flight in first, they actually did not have fresh eggs cooked to order. They only had pasteurized eggs (so scrambled or omelletes only) due to US regs not allowing fresh eggs...

The choice could get even tougher!

Are you aware that QR has announced flights to/from SEZ from 12 December 2016? Here's a quick dummy booking for April 2017:

SEZ DOH QR679 1925 2330
DOH ICN QR858 0225 1700

ICN HKG QR5801 1510 1750 (operated by CX)
HKG DOH QR817 1940 2320
DOH SEZ QR678 0245 0850

Personally I would choose EY over EK in F. The suite on the A340 is much better than the EK 388 F suite IMO. It is more aesthetically pleasing with a classier look, feels more spacious than the EK suite and I much prefer having an ottoman when relaxing in the lounging position and also find the EY seat more comfortable in bed mode. Service is pretty similar to be honest. I haven't tried the new EY F lounge yet so cannot comment on that. The major deciding factor for me would be that nasty 14 hour transit...

I would chose EK over EY if there were a short connection time in DXB in order to avoid the EY A320 but given the 14 hour transit I would definitely choose EY.

Thanks for the heads up. I went to the QR site and saw it in the timetable but for some reason could not get a price. Went to Google flights and found a J fare at USD 6,700 compared to EY at 2,618.

I'm considering the 14 hour layover for a quick sightsee of the city since I haven't been to the region before. I'm not keen on most cities so a short stay is about right for me

Good option. There are plenty of good hotels with 20-30 minutes of the airport.

That's strange. I generally find QR to be by far the most price competitive out of the ME3 (EK, EY, QR). Perhaps you can wait until QR flights to SEZ start and review the fares again then. QR also have frequent sales - keep an eye on the FT QR forum for these or register directly with QR.

From an ease of transfer point of view I have a preference for a DOH transit over AUH or DXB; however you should expect decent in-flight service from all three airlines. Noting your Star Alliance preference, frequent flyer and status points may not be considerations - for example QR is part of the OW alliance.
