That said you can't turn off the lights in the room and their is the constant playing of "muzak" playing. However the privacy is nice.

Pretty poor of the lounge staff not to give an EY Plat a lounge tour on at least the first visit. For what it's worth the rooms aren't great if you're planning to sleep.

The Boarding time printed in the BP is 75 minutes before the actual take off, keep in mind they put that time so people can do immigration (US/PreClearance) before the actual boarding, which will usually start at T30.

I left the lounge at T65 and it took me less than 20 minutes to walk from the Lounge (located between T1/T3) to the gate 61 at T3(one of the last one), GE/Pre Clearance was easy, that line was closed and they escorted me to the Crew/Diplomatic line and I was sent to the officer before the rest (who here already in that line)

how early did you get to the lounge to eat, drink and smoke cigars? haha
The flight was good, but my advice is as soon they give you the welcome, request the shower time that you want, otherwise if you wait until they came back somebody may get your preferred time before you (specially if you want to take the last one which is 90 o 120 minutes before arriving to NYC). Do the same for the Steak sandwich, if you want one in the middle of the flight (after your dinner/sleeping), let the the chef know, otherwise they may run out of steak .
Regarding the lounge, my flight was at 3:20/3:25 am, we (wife and me) arrived to the lounge around 20:30 (8:30PM) without any problem, we had time to take a shower, relax and the have some drink/food, the only issue is one of the bartenders was a little lazy and he give you a look like hate everyone , after asking for a mai thai he give me the drink menu like they don't offer that kind of drink, then when a co-worker asked him 2 mai thai, I said, I want that drink too, ok take a seat he told me, but I never got my drink and after 15 minutes I have to ask him again.
I don't smoke but as far as I know, only 3 cigar free of charge will be provided.

The couches are large enough for a 180degree (or close to) lay?

Yep..you can completely lay flat and take the 2 back cushions off which makes it as big as a twin size bed. As the sofa is leather ask for extra blankets to lay across the seat or you will just sweat.

The chairs in the relaxation room are also very comfortable and recline to an almost horizontal position. I personally prefer this area as i feel its quieter than the entrance part of the lounge where the private rooms are.

Do you remember if the "muzak" was playing in the relaxation room? I suppose I was lucky as was in the private room overnight so not much activity but can see it would be a problem during busy times as it really is just a sliding door with direct entrance to the front dining room kitchen area.

For the luggage storage, the images online appear that they are secured w a key, can someone confirm? If not, can i leave them w an attendant in which they'd leave it in a secured area?

Thanks

They have some lockers which will not have capacity to all types of bags (Sizes) I cannot remember if they can be locked.

Last time I was there they just clipped a Tag number to my carry-on / duty free bag and gave me the matching tag.

Equipment change AUH-DEL from A333 to 77W 2-class means I lose access, it seems? LHR-AUH will be in F
