Please be advised that since the Etihad Guest changes have been announce, the increased seat availability will be effective the 8th of July.
Hope this may help.
Thank you. *JS

So you announce increase in the cost of reward flights giving circa a months notice. Then take all reward availability to zero/close to zero so Guest members cant redeem flights before the costs go up then release availability when the reward costs go up again? That's not right!!!!!!!

We're talking about the fact that GuestFirst availability has been almost totally cancelled across the board in the past 2 weeks - meaning that people wishing to make a First redemption will, apparently, have to wait until after July 8, when the rates have increased by 50% or more.
Please explain WHY First availability has been closed off, and when it will return?

We're not talking about increased availability.

F is still available but depends on routes, some routes like Singapore are also blocked completely overnight.
What I am really unhappy about is Etihad is playing dirty game here. It's not FairPlay to give notice of devaluation yet not completely honouring it.

We can check with our reservations team about the space availability and advise our guest accordingly, we recommend you to check the availability close to fight departure date. Thanks *ES

I asked because if online is the same as via the reservations team there is no need to ask Res about availability really if the OP had already checked online ??; Its fairly clear award availability was reduced due to the upcoming changes at the start of July. These Guest changes really have not been handled very well!!!

Etihad is not the only company to pull these stunts. With the last IHG devaluation several hotels pulled all award inventory until the change was made. Left a bad taste when IHG did it and is leaving a bad taste now that EY is doing it.

There is no help required in this thread because we are all helpless in the face of the impending devaluation.
Very bad taste. I was about to migrate to their programme after being super impressed by their F service recently but anyway swearing off it for now while I have better options still. Very good in the sky but not so good elsewhere.

You are really patient to even trying to explain.

EY can be good in many places; Ok their renovations of the F Lounge in AUH is verging on a joke by now but the Service from Ireland Chauffeur Drive/best lounge in Dublin Airport (not hard mind you) and quite stong onboard in Business (no F from Dublin) make it a strong competitor. Its really the changes to their guest program and how they have been handled have really left a bad taste and have really been disappointing in a way. Sure We have lots of choices who to fly with its just seeing a company actively drive Customers away through their changes then have the ...... to actually say these changes are all in the Guests interest (or whatever phrase they used) really demonstrate that they don't respect their Guests. They need to get back to the concept that a Frequent Flyer program is to reward Loyality not drive it away and they should always be straight and honest in communication; and of course when they communicate actually say something not a "remember to check in early" when the query is totally unrelated.
Maybe I'm too much of an optimist Im still hoping some Senior Manager will actually take on board our comments and have a lightbulb moment..
