is etihad finding the right partners ?

looking what etihad is surrounding themselfs in europe looks like the crap-collection ... air berlin / air serbia / alitalia are not know as quality airlines. they have one thing in common .. they are all close to bankruptcy. why is ethiad doing this knowing that they can't get more than 49% of an EEC airline ? even though they tried with tricks in Air Berlin. But they can be sure that competitors as LH BA AF are watching this game carefully.

Etihads policy to build up a quality carrier in the middle east will definitely be destroyed by their crappy partners in europe.

It would have been a logic and wise step joining one-world instead of Qatar.

Investing in financially weak airlines is risky and managing these investments is challenging, but it is not inconceivable that one or two more European airlines might become Etihad equity partners at some stage. Or that other airlines will be attracted to Etihad's concept, as long as the existing archaic ownership and control airline rules continue to plague the industry's financial viability.

It is a concept that some other airlines are expressly working on (All Nippon Airways and Hainan Airlines for example) and that many others are - or should - be looking at with increasing interest.
