Etihad to Unveil A380 Interior in 8 Weeks

In an interview, Etihad's CEO suggested that flyers may like that they see when it comes to the company's unveiling of its "spectacular" and unique A380 interior.

Very much looking forward to this. If it's anything like the rumours I've heard the new product should be spectacular

Given the distinctly pedestrian new offerings on QR A380 unveiled today (F - meh, J and Y - already in service) it could be EY's chance to impress.

I believe they will attempt to trump EK so showers would be a requirement.

Hmm ..... on the face of it, agreed, showers WOULD be a requirement.

On the other hand .........

Showers are not the deciding factor for ALL pax - as illustrated by the fact that on a number of sectors I recently flew with Emirates in F (the most recent being just yesterday) I was one of a fairly limited number of folk, from what were on occasion near-full F class cabins, who made use of the shower facility.

Etihad may perhaps feel that a) there are better (more innovative ??) things to do with the space taken up by two shower 'suites' and b) they want to be seen as trend-setters rather than followers.

What sectors are you flying?

On my EK F flights the showers were constantly full. I suspect they are most useful on long overnight flights SYD-DXB or DXB-SYD than SYD-AKL.

I've heard what the First cabin will look like. If it's true EY will really be bringing the private jet experience to the commercial level.

So each pax gets a room with en suite? That would be incredible and make it the best F product on the market. How many could they feasibly fit in the F cabin, though?

Can you identify your source or level of seniority at EY?
