However, upon boarding a middle eastern family stole my J seat and I told the cabin crew that I wasn't moving anywhere else and that they had to get the family to their ticketed seats. In the end, they upgraded me to F for free, I was quite surprised.
I have a F award seat on a 77W from JFK-AUH using OZ miles. Any chance EY would allow me on an earlier flight which is A380 F Apartment in advance or at the airport if I arrive on a paid connecting flight early? Thanks.

I have tried this once before and they refused saying it was not their ticket. Most airlines will do this if its not issued on their stock.

Thank you for the info. LH actually did allow me to do this several years ago when I used a US Air F award on LH from IAD-FRA.

Certainly not a good minimum if you're trying to maximise, but that's what we're being offered..

AUH to SFO Bid Y to J

I just received the Select Upgrade email to bid for an upgrade from Y to J on a AUH to SFO route. The min/max bids are $1450/$2000.

Does anyone know if the min bid seems high for this route? And do you think I'll be able to get a lower price by calling into Etihad or asking for an upgrade at check-in?

Thanks in advance!

Bid Upgrade on Deal Fare!!

Flying from AUH-MAN next week on T Class Deal fare, which is a non upgradable fare... normally. However, just got and email informing me I could. Range is £365 to £940.

Normally our Deal fares are not eligible for upgrades. However, as a special offer you can now bid for an upgrade by supplementing your original fare as part of your offer amount. Click here for more information.

Had this on my return LHR > MAA deal fares in September, too. Not eligible, unless not enough people in higher classes bite

Same for my whole trip next week. SYD-AUH-LHR-AUH-PER.

Not interested in paying personally, as much as I might like to be in J . Hopefully if anything is overbooked, being VA Gold will help.

I'm EY Gold, chances for op-ops are thinner than ever.

Good luck to you!

My Op Up success hasn't changed over the past year as a silver - general success rate is pretty good.
