HKG-AUH

I've searched through this thread, but I can't find any quotes for HKG-AUH. Has anyone flown this segment (in either direction) recently? Any idea of the minimum bid for Y-J, or even better, an example of a successful bid?

JFK - AUH Minimid bid $1500 10/29

Ouch!. Still put it in though because flying 14 hrs in economy could be brutal and would like to avoid if at all possible. Will let you know if it gets upgraded.

Did this flight before and the time flew by in Y. They have pacman on the IFE. Just one word of caution after 5 hours straight your thumbs can get quite sore. Enjoy.

Yes, the offered lowpoint of £610 indicates that F is pretty empty, dunno if someone can check, its EY20 on 14th May. Will let you know if I get it. When will they typically let me know?

My Wife and I are flying BLR----ZHR ; LHR--BLR this July, obviously with a Stopover in AUH. The Bid to Upgrade system is currently showing the following minimum bids

Euros 168--678; 1178--168

What do you guys think of these rates? A380 Economy shouldn't be too uncomfortable but the 3-4-3 of the 789 is going to be quite uncomfrotable and any flight from the Gulf to India is a circus in Economy.

I thought this was quite expensive so I tried to check for a miles upgrade, our tickets are YS and the system just keeps saying that no upgrade are possible on your ticket. Do you think this has something to do with not having miles in my Guest Portal? My company has been qualified for Etihad Business Connect, so depending on the cost of the miles, I may be able to get enough miles for both of us to upgrade.

Also any recommendations for flights from Zurich to London? Need something in the mid morning or early afternoon. Etihad partner will help as we are trying to build up tier points to get Silver Tier

Has anybody had an experience of upgrading at the airport with Etihad, and if so, what was the price like? I'm flying LHR - AUH - PVG one way in the first week of August (economy ticket paid for by employer) and have been looking into upgrading to business out of my own pocket; I am a guest member, but a recent one, so have no miles to put towards this. I have been quoted £1400 over the phone, and if I want to participate in the upgrade auction, LHR - AUH starts at £850, AUH - PVG at £550, but I'm considering risking it and trying at the airport. Do you think it's worth it or are those prices the best I'm going to get?

Usually Airport Upgrades are the cheapest, followed by bids and then miles upgrades (depending on the type of ticket and the value of the miles); GBP 1400 for a one way upgrade seems steep to me, as do the minimum upgrade bids. If you are sure about wanting to upgrade, then I'd take the push upgrade over the phone. It's the same as the minimum bids and you are guaranteed a seat in J. Try to get them to give you miles and tier points for J not Y
