Emirates Free Headphone for Golds back in 2011?

Hi Folks,

I distinctly remember being very impressed when EK offered me noise canceling earbuds when I made GOLD for the first time back in 2011. I have used those nearly every day, two hours a day, in the gym since then and they are still great! They are probably the most durable earbuds I have ever owned and they have excellent bass frequency response.

My question to you - Does anyone know who the original equipment manufacturer of these units were? I would like to buy another pair.

I am not sure exactly , but a quick google search indicated that they were sold on sites such as eBay before. Maybe a more in-depth search will be able to produce some results for you by buying them from someone online , otherwise i think contacting EK will do the trick. I would not be surprised if the manufacture has not got them anymore.

Since 2011, there are probably much better offers now.
Just saying.

Actually no. Thanks for your feedback.

These earbuds are indestructible.

I have purchased at least a dozen other pairs and I have probably spent >GBP500 or more (some BOSE) and they held up for maybe 6 months.

Hence the post. These "free" earbuds are bulletproof!

I remember seeing Panasonic ear buds which looked similar. I do agree that they were indestructible. I managed to use them for almost 3 years till I lost them (on a Non EK aircraft ) in 2014.

Sorry OP but I have no idea where you can get some new ones now. Like you, I was given a pair for being a Gold member way back in 2011 and have used them almost every day, and they’re still going strong. I’ve not needed to change the ear cushions. In terms of noise cancelling, they’re not brilliant, but acceptable.

I remember when they were sent out quite a few members posted their thoughts here that they were cheap rubbish. They may have been cheap but the test of time has proved to two of us that they’ve lasted well and better than some of the top brand name products.

Hope you find another pair.

I don't think they were "noise cancelling"

I think I may have a pair in a drawer somewhere still.

Still have 2 pairs, never used them - one remained unopened. Sitting in a storage box in the storage somewhere...

Sorry, I stand corrected. Certainly not to be confused with Bose noise cancelling headphones.
