I mean, seriously? How did this happen. (Again)

So after my last post, about the chauffeur drive not turning up, EK not covering the cost of my taxi, and not allowing me to have platinum as I landed 12 hours late, and EVEN, publicly stating that I will never, nor anyone in my company, ever fly on EK again;

I'm flying EK again

LGW-DXB-KUL-MNL-SIN-KUL-DXB-LHR

Clearly not all on EK, but to KUL at least, in F too. I am going with the same colleague which I normally travel with, and she is so excited about going F, and I am more 'meh'. Which is a very poor show on my part.

I have a friend dropping me off at LGW, so no risk of the car not turning up.

Reading the post about EK F and the lack of storage, at least there is someone out there who appreciates it less than me!

Strangely, the flight from DXK to KUL is full in F, totally packed and I am not going until January - any ideas?

Quoting the great Michael Corleone:
"Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in."

Hopefully the "meh" feeling will subside after the second glass of Dom.

Sorry, this seems to have been taken in the wrong spirit,

I merely meant, thats despite the fact that I was shouting from the hills about how bad Emirates were, and how poor their customer service is, and how their F and J products are going downhill, AND that I said I would never ever fly them again I am,

I don't know how they manage to do it, the thread on how poor F is in EK has actually some good points in,

I suppose I am admitting that, as in group therapy, I am a weak individual who will chase miles and points to get status, no matter how poor I thought an airlines customer service was.

Actually... what your post is showing us is further proof that 99% of the people who show up and say "I'm so mad! I'm never flying (insert name of airline here)" are full of crap.

Exactly! It really would have to be very very bad to never ever fly an airline again.

I must be part of the rare 1% then.
I was mad when I had to pay 300 Euro for 7kgs surcharge for one segment on EY a plusgrade upgrade. I complained at no avail and left them my gold card telling them that was my last EY flight ever.

Happily flying QR since and holding plat.

A few months later EY changed the rules and plusgrade upgrades can check in the luggage corresponding to class of travel.

But sorry to hijack an EK topic...

I had to chip in as I still remember the last time you swore you wouldn't fly EK again... back in 2011. And then you went to BA, then came back to EK, and was it back again to BA and then to EK again?

I'll remind you to re-read my post from 2011

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/emira...l#post17545609

and remember to highlight "You need to re-adjust the way you look at things. This is commercial plane travel - things happen, things will go wrong and service will not always be 100%."

while I admit I don't complain about EK very often, there ARE other alternatives. Most of my EK flights are to LAX, JFK, SIN & FRA/MUC. While I'm happy keeping all of those flights on EK, I must admit that around half my JFK flights are now with Etihad. IMO the First Apartment can't be beat. Unfortunately they only fly it to JFK in the states. But it works well for me.....still enough EK business to keep IO & a flight that's even better then EK when flying JFK
