Wow. Very interested. I think some airlines will pick up. We will see what happen. Delta will take ex-EK 777-200ER. If they have enough financial.

Actually think it might be 2 --- EMG hasn't flown since May 13 either. Don't expect HMV for this type as they are all to be retired this year....

SQ have been retiring newer 777-200ER, so why would they take an older EK bird?

Emirates Boeing 777-21HER A6-EMI entered the Dubai maintenance facility in the early hours of this morning after arriving as EK120 from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen (depart Istanbul 15th June). It is expected that the aircraft will not be returned to service and that this marks the end of Emirates Boeing 777-200ER operations.

EMJ, EMK & EML should be still flying.

2016: Emirates will take delivery of 36 new aircraft in 2016, including 20 A380s and 16 Boeing 777-300ERs.
2017: No statement so far.

Looking at the planned production, EK should receive approximately 13 more A380s during the rest of calendar year 2016, and 16 during calendar year 2017. They should also receive approximately 11 more 777-300ERs during calendar year 2016 and 12 777-300ERs during calendar year 2017.

During this time, the remainder of the A330/340 and 777 classic fleet will be retired. The first 777-300ERs coming off lease should also be retired before the end of calendar year 2017.

That's the current plan at least. Like any airline, they've built in flexibility to match any unforseen circumstances that may arise.
