had no patience, sorry. maybe et has to teach me some transit-yoga (was actually bored in transit)
just a guess. 18 weekly connections (from March) to MNL is fine but there is a lot more potential there imo. heard the CX flight is doing very well to Cebu with EU pax.

Emirates seems less and less interested in MIA. With MIA having Qatar, the market isn't quite there yet.
Plus, Etihad seems more likely as they continue to have ongoing discussions with MIA.
My bet for the USA: Atlanta, Newark, Philadelphia.

A third destination to Spain (rumoured in the country for a long time) will be more than welcomed. Highest in the list is AGP, which will be most suitable for me. But I don't see it coming in the next couple years.

[That's why I'm wondering if EK can manage it to launch a new route with a B77W from the start].
QR are quite clever in that they use their 319LR to open a route to test the water. They did that with RGN and it is now a 2 class A330

Given that for any one new destination you've got around 40-50 source markets to pick up feed from, as well as taking into accounts EKs fleet configuration (all widebody), then I think the onus is on their fleet planning and research department rather than testing the waters with any particular aircraft.
That said, Sir Tim joined EK as Head of Airline Planning so I am quite confident that he knows how to launch a new route

" Any additional A380 service to Australia takes 2.5 air frames to do the job."
That`s not correct; EK can fly to any destination daily, with only 2 frames!
So, if 20 airplanes will leave and 36 will join the fleet; I can imagine too about 5-6 new destinations and increasing frequencies to some destinations already srved...

I have doubt that. It will definitely happens. You'll see. If they bring A380 into ATL. Soon, Delta will be end of Dubai service.
Where did you hear this? I don't think its happening anytime soon. QR has already direct flight to DOH.
Unfortunately, not. It won't be Havana, Cuba. Is not an options.
As for Canada, If they ever resolved, and it will became daily flights instead of 3 times per-week.
Correct! QR has already direct flight from DOH-MIA and I hearing this routes has done extremely very well. Lots of competition, eh?
I have doubt that. EY will decide to bring more direct flight to MIA, MCO or anywhere else. It will happens.

It will be 26 leaving and 36 joining for a net increase of 10 frames.
My guess is 5 new destinations max:
ATL, HEL, MIA or PHL, 1 Africa, 1 Asia. The rest will be for frequency increases.

RGN as a route
ET
[The QR A319LR I would argue cannot give an accurate representation of demand to a certain destination because it is a 40 seat all J configuration.]
At the time of the DOH/RGN launch they had a two class 319 which is what they used to open the route up for 12 months until moving to the A330-200.
I was in row 2 in J,from what I recall there were only 4 rows before the curtain

Yes, the DOH-MIA-DOH route has been doing good. For the rest, I don't know what you said.
