the two new destinations are not very full I assume (maybe more in the front, as I think there are some tech companies etc). PVG and CAN, in my experience very full - never flown to Beijing with EK

As per my own experience to PEK they are pretty full in Y and not so in F or J. I've been upgraded many times from Y to J and J was half empty. But that's only PEK in the A380 flights. I don't know about the other destinations or the B777 rotation.

My departures from PEK have only been on the 77W rotations and on all occassions I have had an empty seat next to me in J. Didn't see F full either.

On my DXB-PEK flights on only A380's, I have got the impression that there have been a lot of Op-Ups. I know going by seat maps you cannot tell how full a flight is but on the flights I have done, the seat maps have been fairly wide open on OLCI. On boarding via the lounge level, I tend to get to the gate sharpish where maybe there have been three or four other pax and the gate hasn't opened yet. On boarding the flight, there have always been a lot of pax that have already boarded from the lower level. Could be totally wrong but that is the impression I get.

On my last flight, the J cabin purser (if that's what you call them) came and introduced herself to me and a few others but I did notice she didn't take the time to do this with all pax and I wouldn't expect a personal welcome in J as a lowly Silver (again, could be mistaken) . Then the introduction from the crew member looking after the cabin area I was in. All of my 77W flights, a member of the cabin crew lookng after the cabin area I have been in has introduced themselves but not the 'purser'.

So what's that got to do with the thread? . Think it shows that PEK is Y heavy and a few Op-Ups do happen regularly.

Safe & Happy Travels

P.S. Still hoping for SUB

QR is apparently on the verge of announcing DOH LAS. I would not be surprised if EK were to jump in first. I had always expected LAS to be somewhere on the list of EK's potential US destinations.

what I know, the airport cannot accomodate an A380 yet (I think they would have upgauge 777 to 388 before sending a second 777, because of the high premium demand there)
