I will renew on May.
Well I don't think I will renew plat so it's annoying. Surely from Jan you'd get the new one? Now I have as you pointed out the old card for 13 months when the new ones must be imminent. First world problems!

Just got my new Gold card (qualified Jan 2016) and it doesn't have the new design!? Still got sunrise on the A380 or whatever it's called. Pretty disappointing.

My wife got her Platinum card this week with the old design too...

I guess there has been an issue with the card producers...

The issue is probably with piles of old stock waiting to be used...however, one could, later in the year...lose your card and request a new one

^ I like the way you think I do tend to misplace my Skywards cards unusually often

Don't forget to make sure you keep the card you use for e-gate safe though as the e-gate capability is different from the Skywards expiry date on the card!

how do you mean?

E-GATE lasts 12 months not 14?

It lasts neither - I suspect the e-gate functionality uses their own internal expiry date (probably 2 years like the dnrd issued cards) because I'm still using a long-expired 2014 Skywards card as my e-gate card and it works fine! I'm pretty sure I'll get caught out some time this year though and every time I've been to an airport dnrd office, e-gate enrollment officers either aren't there or the computer is broken!

Haha good one.the day South Africans get to use such facilities in developed countries will be truly magical. For now it's just SE Asia and South America I can travel to without being subjected to intense examinations beforehand.

I just renewed Platinum in late April and still got the old design. Pretty strange. What is the point of having a 2016 design if you don't use it.

Has anyone got their tags/cards with the new design yet?

I renewed Gold at the end of March and received the new design card / tags last week.

Well that is strange. Looks like they might just be using up old stock.

Might just have to "lose" my cards and bag tags in a month or so .
