I'm not saying it can't work, but two large middle east airlines knocking on smaller markets makes me wonder if it'd really work.
Well, flights are meant to mature. Just like DFW, IAH, SFO, LAX, etc..

As far as I know, PHL and MIA have been doing great for QR.

I wouldn't be shocked to see EK at either airports in the upcoming months or year.

Any news or rumours what could be next?

Due to political (Ukraine, Libya, Syria, Iraq...) and health reason (Ebola) I think it's not so easy to predict and plan new routes as no one knows where this would supposed to end.

Any news about upcoming bilateral changes (e.g. Canada, China, India) so EK can add more flight/destinations?

There are a number of viable options to replace the routes recently cancelled.. Already a few new frequencies and up-gauges have been announced....

Also, MIA and HEL are closer to finally coming true within the next 6-9 months. Expanded bilateral agreements with Canada and India will as well open up more frequencies and up-gauges A380s.

I heard the flight EK 500/5001 DXB-BOM-DXB will switch from the A380 back to the 77W.

Strange move......

Probably not enough to fill up the premium cabins. A 2 class 380 might be a better bet. Though my last flight (last weekend) went out full in all 3 classes.

Haven`t Emirates ordered some 2 classes A380?

Could be a good choice for destinations like DAC, MNL, DEL, BOM, HYD and CGK....

They haven't finalized any yet. still working on the viability and configuration.

Swapping AC makes sense if they can redeploy more efficiently and/or boost revenue. FCO is a good example.

No, EK is, most probably, going to swap the A380 from EK500/501 to EK504/505, because BOM has only 1 Code F gate available at the time, and with LH upgauging BOM to A380 in W14, EK500 would arrive nearly at the same time.

There are also rumours that BOM will be served 5 daily with 77Ws instead (currently in a mix of A380, 772, 773, 77W)

There is plenty of demand between DXB and BOM with more demand out to GCC/US/EU/Levant/Africa, so that statement should be out of the way

How do you know MIA and HEL are close to coming true?

We've been hearing that for five years. I'd think that Miami is the most logical next U.S. destination for EK, but the rumors have been around so long, it's hard for people to believe it anymore.

Fingers crossed.

I'd really like to know how some of you know MIA is coming soon.

No disrespect. Just very curious. I hope you all are right.
