Interesting - I only got the email with promotional Y fares. I may have been tempted by 10% off J or F, but fares ex-Ireland or UK are not great at the moment. I wonder what the criteria for receiving that offer are?

I did not get either email - no surprise there as I never get any of them.

Anyway the "Welcome 2013 Special Fares" offer appears on EK's home page so tried it for routes and times I was checking recently and all fares came back exactly the same as before ... definitely not like last year where there were tremendous savings.

From my home town of Lisboa the Y flights to Singapore are currently 550 euros RTN, in April, which is about a 450 euros saving. Not bad in all honestly. Due to the crazy J prices in LIS I tend to use FCO instead and Emirates only seem to have opened up their combi tickets that reduces a fare to BKK from 1900 euros to 1600 euros RTN. However the tier/miles takes a big hit so you are not really making a saving if you are in their FFP. However if you don't collect the miles of course it is a nice little discount in my book.

I had a look at ex-FCO and can't see anything that good - can you see those prices at the moment?

e-mail arrived 26th.

E-mail arrived today. Some good fares. Business class saver BHX-SIN-BHX, in April, £1962.99 on all flights. Very good. Booked! Last week on the 15% Business Class sale these were £2900+.

This is utter B/S this offer. Yet ANOTHER example of "when is a sale not a sale". Do EK think its customers are stupid? They must...

I booked a flight on 22 Dec and have plugged the same flight into the link I was emailed re this offer and the prices are... the same. Pathetic.

We need to keep blowing the whistle on this.

Checked for fares from LGW to DEL. No actual discount as such. In fact the fares seem unusually high for late February .

Over £2000 for J flex and over £1800 for J saver. I used to get the flex tickets at around £1800 and the savers for £1400 to £1500.

Moreover the tickets available at this 'cheaper ' price now have a layover of 8-16 hours at DXB

But the £2900+ tickets were flex tickets were'nt they. I had been watching the fares as well and it looks as if they have just released a whole load of saver tickets over the last 2 days. There were no saver fares available till 2 days ago.
