Chauffeur drive when travelling with a buddy
I'm travelling with a mate in a few weeks time but on seperate bookings.
If we want to share the chauffeur drive to the airport, what is the best way to organise this? Should we put in a comment when booking on line, call Emirates and tell them or call the chauffeur company direct? Anything else we should do when travelling together but booked seperately. |
Will a normal car be sufficient (you've only got 2 people and bags right)? Just book it for yourself and have your mate get in the car to go down with you. I've done the exact opposite when leaving the airport. My father was in Y on a separate booking. He just jumped in the car with me.

Yes, two people and bags. One car will be sufficient and we're both travelling in J.
I just want to ask that they don't send two cars when one will do, and I'm wondering the best way to do this without causing confusion. |

What is the departure point. If in DXB, no issues, just book the one car and he will hop on. At outstations they can sometimes get a bit iffy with insurance and some other nonsense, so I would just put a note on the booking.

In the UK I had an issue once with a driver who didn't want to allow my colleague to get in the car (he was in Y same flight) but in the end it was allowed. |

It would be legitimate if they wouldn't allow her; I wouldn't complain. |

So I suppose that they wouldn't look too kindly on including someone else not on the same flight in the car? I am leaving LHR on Emirates J, but my traveling companion is on another airline around the same time. Should I (a) see if they'll let her hop in the car, (b) tell/ask them beforehand, or (c) just forget about her coming along?

Option B sounds right, don't mention they are not on the same flight just say the pickup will be for two people with luggage and I can't see them having any issue.

Departure point is GLA so I'll do as you suggest.

Same situation last week. Flying J out of GLA with a friend, we booked one car. No issues
There doesn't seem to be anywhere on the on-line booking form to add a note to this effect. Would a phone call to Emirates or to Charlton Limo be better? |

Always better to call. Otherwise, they will ring the day before to confirm your location and so you can do it then.

Any ideas about travelling with minors? I have a trip to MAN in about a months time. They will be in Y, but we are a group travelling together. Hoping to get the car to take us all from and to the airport. (total of 3 passengers) |
