49,126 !
Just made a couple of booking for some up and coming trips that will take my tier miles to 49,126, of course I need the full 50,000 for a renewal of Gold.
What do you think, if I don;t make any more bookings, will the "up it" ?
874 miles short !
Have been Gold for as long as I can remember, so maybe that'll help ?

Write to them with what you just mentioned. It helps if you have future travel booked showing on your profile as well.

If they are gonna do it, you should check your Tier Status page and see if it says that you have already requalified. They routinely comp the last 750 miles in my experience (twice now I've shown as "requalified" when I hit 49,250 - even though I eventually exceeded that by a fair bit) but not sure about 874 miles.

Be interesting to see if you could pull that off now... I think if you're probably within a 1000 or so, then maybe (if you have future travel booked) but the way I see it, the program is fairly accommodating with the rolling 13-month re-qualification period...

I think this is correct, there is a different between the re-qualification period (12 months) and the grace period in which EK still gives your old status (e.g. 12 + 2 months) before you get downgraded.

No, it is in fact a 13 month period for requalification. If you attain Gold on 1 April, you have till 30 April of the next year to renew it. The same goes for when you first attain status.
