Booking With Miles - Continental but actually Virgin

Replies very much appreciated to this question: if I ask EK to try to use Skywards miles to book a partner airline flight that is actually a codeshare, will they? I am looking to book a Continental codeshare with Virgin. LHR to SFO out and LAX to LHR return if that makes sense?

Thanks

AFAIK, redemptions must be made on flights operated by Continental.

Cheers,

I recently tried to book an SA codeshare with LX on a skywards reward ticket and was told that it wasn't possible. Don't know if the same applies to CO though. Why don't you phone the skywards service centre and ask?
