Many thanks to Emirates777 and Jet Boy for keeping us up to date on possible future destinations for EK.
May I ask if there are any frequency increases planned for Houston? My understanding is that flight is going gangbusters and I was wondering what are EK's future plans for IAH.
I read that EK would like to put the A380 on DXB-IAH, but the earliest timeframe would be 2012 when the greater range A380s come online.
Even with some competition coming from QR soon, is an additional EK flight in the works?
The 777W wont be going on PERTH i can assure you on that. We can not even fill 2 345's on this route.
What insight do you have a new 345 route? None im seeing in the office here!
I assume you work for Emirates?
All the information I'm getting is based on what's listed in the GDS. If load doesn't warrant an upgrade from 345 to 77W, better question your manager (not me) for that plan. In fact Emirates in December 2007 already planned to swap 1 345 for 77W from 26OCT08. But this has been pushed back to 01FEB09 around June/July 2008.
I'm trying to keep the details private but I can say that 1 345 will be flying to a destination that it used to serve.

Apart from Nagoya previous A345 destinations for Emirates have included New York (JFK), Hamburg (HAM), London Gatwick (LGW), Beijing (PEK) and Sydney (SYD) [once it is upgraded to A380 in Feb 09].
The schedules through to end of March 2009 have already been published on the Emirates website and various GDS. Emirates fiscal year runs from April to March and the new network/schedule news be in reference to the period April 2009 through March 2010 since this info will be incremental.
yes that is expected to get the A 345 in 2009 and will be most likely marketed as a same plane aircraft operating the NGO-DXB-GRU sector as Jetboy mentioned in his previous postings. This will be the 2nd daily DXB-GRU flight.
Emirates777 and Jetboy...whats the latest concerning EK's planned flights to ORD? Any further details on this development?
Few questions for Jetboy and Emirates777:
Q1. You have mentioned for 2009 that CPH and LTN will be launched but in an Arabian Business article 3 weeks ago, EK's CEO said that in Europe only AMS and KBP will be launched in 2009...so whats the scoop here???
Q2. What sort of market EK see in LTN?
Q3. When did the UAE-Bangladesh air accord get amended to allow EK to expand into CGP? If flights are launched, will it be with a 2 class A 332 or 2 class B 772A?
Q4. How come GVA is not being seriously looked at by EK as there is a lot of potential in that market for EK to exploit?

Cheers,
I'm sure planning would like an upto date list too...
My understanding is that there will be a minimum of 10 aircraft arriving in the fiscal year 2009/10. 5x A380s and 5x B77Ws. I suspect there's more than 10 aircraft since 22 aircraft (11x B77W, 6x B77L and 5x A380) will (hopefully) be delivered in fiscal 2008/9.
The incremental A380s wont arrive until September 2009 at the earliest and will be part of the "Wave 2" delivery schedule so to some degree adjusted for recent delays. The schedule for the B77Ws hasnt been adjusted for late delivery of galleys and interiors or the recent Boeing strike and so likely there is some slippage.
In terms of the operating schedule there is likely +1 B773 aircraft that will be reintroduced as the refurbishment of this fleet should be completed in time for the start of the new fiscal year.
Will be interesting to see if Emirates postpones retirement of some older A330-200s given the aircraft shortage.

I still think that we could DXB-GIG instead of a double GRU flight.
Bangkok must be doing really well for Emirates to consider adding a 4th daily frequency? Loads in economy must be good as usual but how are the premium loads on this route as well as BKK-SYD-BKK?
