Now that we are into October it seems to be a little late to be looking at developments for the remainder of 2009. Some recent posts have been on the subject of 2010 developments. Is it time to have a thread devoted to routes in 2010?

Another small update to the 2009/2010 operating plan.
Effective 1 December 2009, Manila frequencies will increase from 12x weekly to Double Daily.
EK332/333 DXB-MNL-DXB gets a 7th weekly frequency on Thursday.
EK334/335 DXB-MNL-DXB gets a 7th weekly frequency on Monday.
All the MNL flights will be operated by 2-class B77W aircraft.
All subject to government approval.
It is expected that the next capacity increase on MNL will likely be deployment of the 2-class A380 aircraft in late 2010 or by 1Q 2011 at the latest on one of the 2 daily flights.
As far as new routes go there are quite a few in the pipeline (i got an update last week). The issue is available aircraft capacity. One route that seems to be a front runner is Tokyo (NRT). I don't think we will see many new North America routes, instead an increase in aircraft size -- like the SFO upgrade to B77W. By 2015 all the current Americas routes should switch to the lighter A380.
May I cross my fingers for an Copenhagen announcement in the near future - so many rumors the last couple of years here in Copenhagen since the announced EK service was "postponed" back in 2006. Several times I have heard rumors about an upcoming announcement from EK regarding CPH, but we are still waiting… Frustrating - Yes!

But that might have to do with the fact that Dubai already got two routes to Scandinavia, SK for CPH, and DY for OSL. And then QR for DOH - ARN.
But that said, I too hope for an EK route to CPH, and I'm also very curious when this is going to happen! More travel agents sell vacations for UAE, and they goes like fresh bread

I go 2 times a year to Ukraine, and admittingly it's a hassle to go via Moscow, as that means having to apply for a Russian visa. The U.A.E has had a bilateral for some time with Ukraine. as aerosvit flies to Dubai from kiev, and also air arabia flies 3 times a week happily to KBP. but I'm always lamenting that if ek 723 can turn a profit with addis ababa enteebe combo why not then Lithuania-kbp-dxb or dxb-dme-kbp-dxb?
I also hope for dxb-Cgk-dps-dxb soon as well.
also when will ek fly to fiji onroute to Seattle (seatac?) and then sea-tac-dxb thus making a EK RTW?
I hope that in the 2010-2011 route planning you can consider serving these sectors, as Ek gets so many planes per year, this year having 22 more planes then last year. any ideas emirates 777?
