Now from what i am hearing some A380 deliveries are being shifted out and thus we may or may not see the A380 in 1H 2010 or it could be later in 2010 -- the aircraft could be deployed elsewhere. It will come down to demand across the network.

As far as new routes go there are quite a few in the pipeline (i got an update last week). The issue is available aircraft capacity. One route that seems to be a front runner is Tokyo (NRT). I don't think we will see many new North America routes, instead an increase in aircraft size -- like the SFO upgrade to B77W. By 2015 all the current Americas routes should switch to the lighter A380.

India is a bit more complicated. The current bilateral is getting close to being maxed out. We will have to wait for the next round of bilateral talks and see the outcome -- the Indian carriers seem to be pushing back on granting Emirates more capacity. Furthermore, the issue of accomodating FlyDubai has to be considered. Recall their plans to fly to Coimbatore (CJB), Lucknow (LKO) and Chandigarh (IXC) have been stalled due to traffic rights. I believe Mangalore (IXE) and Jaipur (JAI) have been earmarked for FlyDubai. Pune (PNQ) could be served by either EK or FZ (Fly Dubai).

emirates 777 I think (either someone from emirates airline should (edit) this wikipedia statement below:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emirates_Airline_Fleet

in that it states that a380-800 will be introduced dxb-sin-dxb November 2009. if that's not a fact now someone up front should edit this wiki post. don't u think?

1)what about my query about RTW with ek + virgin australia? does the "codeshare" between VA+ek mean that ek members will be able to avail of a pure ek RTW+va1 or va2 in either direction RTW? that's likely to get a lot of RTW pax out of oz and RTW from other places, too it if can happen.

2) or rtw ek + tn (air tahiti nui) {heard about it on another flyertalk posting}
3) or RTW "17 airlines (world journey). {seen www.western.uk (sp?) offer it)

I've heard from ek offices and ekinida that only ek+ua RTW is offered. yet the RTW london websites are offering 3) above.

any idea on this emirates 777 afauk?

Some aircraft changes to the 2009/10 operating plan

As mentioned by FlyEK in an earlier post, EK791/792 DXB-LAD-DXB will open on 25 Oct with A332 (3-class) instead of B77W.

Effective 1 December the following other aircraft changes will place:

EK751/752 DXB-CMN-DXB will downgrade from B77W to A343.

EK787/788 DXB-ACC-ABJ-ACC-DXB will remain on A343 (the planned upgrade to B77W will no longer take place).

EK362/363 DXB-CAN-DXB will upgrade to the B77W from A332 (instead of the planned upgrade to A343).

EK725/726 DXB-DAR-DXB will upgrade from A343 to B77W (yipee !)

EK953/954 DXB-BEY-DXB will shift to 777 on a daily (mixture of sub-types on various days)

EK903/904 DXB-AMM-DXB will shift to 777 on a daily basis (mixture of sub-types on various days)

Frequency increases, Effective 26 October 2009:

EK977/978 DXB-IKA-DXB will increase to Daily from 5x weekly - additional frequencies on Monday & Saturday. As a result IKA moves to 3x Daily.

I don't think its my business to tell Wikipedia or Emirates to make corrections. As for your questions re RTWs, unfortuately i don't know the detail around these products to answer your questions.

Do you have any news from EK will be reintroduce A380 service back DXB-JFK yet? I'm curious that I would like to know about marketable to get more recoverable the globalization economic. It will be a very successful route on A380 out of DXB-JFK sometime in first-half 2010.

Unlikely to see 3rd daily MAN in the 2009/10 operating plan due to lack of available aircraft capacity.

Both plans (upgrade of aircraft on EK017/018 to A380, as well as 3rd daily EK021/022) under consideration for the 2010/2011 operating plan. Practically speaking i think only one of them will materialise -- the 3rd daily. I believe the first high density A380 (2-class) will be put on one of the MNL flights.

Upgrade of aircraft to A380 on EK406/407 DXB-MEL-AKL-MEL-DXB is under consideration for the 2010/11 operating plan.

Will there be any new routes in the rest of 2009?

Now that we are into October it seems to be a little late to be looking at developments for the remainder of 2009. Some recent posts have been on the subject of 2010 developments. Is it time to have a thread devoted to routes in 2010?
