BTW - the economy here is doing fine...
I am sure that a OSL - DXB route with daily flights would be very profitable for EK.
Norwegians travel ALOT, and traffic is very good in despite of the credit crunch, from which Norway (and Denmark) is not really suffering. The new Thai Airways route OSL - BKK is doing very well, and there are lots of Norwegians travelling to Asia and Australia for holiday and vacation.
I am tired of first having to fly to LON, FRA or MXP from OSL or TRF, then onwards with Emirates to PER or SIN...
EK225/226 DXB-SFO-DXB changes from B77L to B77W (with Suites in F).
EK765/766 DXB-JNB-DXB changes from B77W to B77L.
EK203/204 DXB-JFK-DXB changes from B77W to B77L.
Effective 1 December 2009:
EK765/766 DXB-JNB-DXB changes from B77L to A345.
EK414/415 DXB-SYD-DXB starts with B77L (originally supposed to be A345).
EK424/425 DXB-PER-DXB remains on A345 (originally was supposed to switch to B77W).
EK203/204 DXB-JFK-DXB changes from B77L to B77W.

Still no A380 to JNB???
@ Emirates777, Any news on earlier posts regarding the A380 having difficulty flying out of JNB during the world cup and putting the A380 on the DUR route for that time

No new news regarding A380 to JNB. Some A380s may see further delivery slippage hence they have not been programmed into the 2009/10 operating plan. I think there's a good chance of A380s coming to JNB during the FIFA World Cup. Not sure about DUR though.

Excuse me? You didn't read my perviously posts with A380 back to JFK yet? You should have to re-read my previously posts for me. Thanks.

I don't think that aircraft is capable of operating this route without a payload restriction.
Yeah, I think EK will have to get tech stop somewhere in EU to get refuel the plane. It will be very long jetstream out of DXB-SFO. It will be very strong the headwinds. The entire 77W aircraft will be very heavies to get more cargo hold & baggage, too. This is very seriously issued any weight restrictions.

Cathay Pacific operate a similarly length flight JFK/HKG vv. with B773ER aircraft.
The flight WILL be NONSTOP. There will be no tech stop except for unusual circumstances (check the Continental OnePass forums and search for Newark-Berlin for a discussion of tech stops).
The CX and EK flights both operate over the north pole where year round winds are both predictable and negligible. The SFO-DXB sector is flown at lower latitudes to take advantage of the prevailing winds.
According to a thread on Airliners.net, the DXB-SFO sector will be limited to 270Y/42J/8F seats, and the SFO-DXB sector will accomodate 290Y/42J/8F an increase of 66 seats westbound and 86 seats eastbound.
in case of reduced cargo demand the flight may be opened up to full capacity at time of departure. Conversely it may be more restricted if additional freight is consigned (just my speculation).
As to whether it can take full pax and freight, why should we as passengers be concerned about it? That's EK's business. We should be glad they are adding so many seats in the market, even if the plane itself is restricted below full installed capacity.

Did some research, the SFO-DXB sector will be restricted to Y278 and not at Y290 as airliners.net stated

If the plane goes with 34 blocked seats, it's maximum possible load factor is 90%. That means that the ticket prices on that sector will not drop as much as one would think they should with a capacity increase.
Also, for those wishing to travel standby, it will be nearly impossible to get on a flight at a moments notice. Also, the chances of your luggage not being loaded on a payload restricted flight are increased.

EK514/515 will operate Daily with A330-200 in 3 class configuration.
EK512/513 will operate Daily with B777-300ER (with Suites in F).
how about ek 353 from sin-dxb. I've heard that in 2010 it becomes a380-800. Tim Clark said that in Q1 if loads improve ek would put a380-800 back on JFK, will it be ek 201 again or something else emirates 777? when will they 100% put it back in 2010? will they open any more new routes for 2010? if so which ones? what about managlore, Pune, Jaipur, ord, sea, iad, bos or such?
