Frequency remains 2x weekly.

Separately i'm hearing that the A380 could be back on EK201/202 DXB-JFK-DXB sometime in 1Q 2010 depending on how well loads recover on the route. Nothing finalised yet.

Due to heavy booking for the summer peak EK asked and obtained the authorization from ENAC (Italian Civil Aviation Authority) to add 5 extra bilateral flights in August (on every sunday) to Rome.
Flights are now bookable through EK.com :

EK 3097 DXB FCO 10.20 14.40 - 77W
EK 3098 FCO DXB 16.55 00.35(+1) - 77W

Source of the news the EK's general manager for Italy, Malta, Spain and Portugal (Italian only, sorry)

Try telling that to one of the 17% that are unemployed. The Spanish economy is almost as bankrupt as the Uk economy

Really? When I was in Manchester a few weeks ago there was a long report on the BBC about how the Spanish economy was among the worst in Europe. The focus of the story was on the numerous British expats now jobless in Spain as a result that Spain was so much harder hit than the rest of Europe by the economic collapse. Unemployment at 20% these days doesn't sound like so robust economy to me.

PS. I'd love to see EK start Spanish services as much as anybody, but alas I'm very curious where any good economic news is coming from Spain?

In a recent interview Maurice Flanagan mentioned Madrid and Barcelona on the wish list.

However, considering that there will be no new aircraft deliveries from March 2010 until March 2011, I don't think we'll see Spain until next decade.

Another update to the 2009/10 operating plan.

FCO will not upgrade to A380 as originally planned, instead the aircraft will be used on LHR (EK003/004).

Effective 2 December 2009, EK003/004 (DXB-LHR-DXB) will operate with A380 on Mon, Wed, Sat, Sun.

Tue, Thu, Fri, remains on B77W (with Suites in F).

Effective 1 January 2010, EK003/004 operates daily with A380.

Effective 2 December 2009, EK097/098 (DXB-FCO-DXB) will operate daily with B77W (3-class with Suites in F).

Effective 25 October 2009, EK103/104 (DXB-ATH-DXB) will see a frequency reduction from Daily to 4x weekly (service Ops on Tue, Wed, Fri, Sun). Aircraft remains A332 (3-class).

Effective 1 September 2009, EK304/305 (DXB-PVG-DXB) will see a frequency increase from 4x weekly to 6x weekly (Daily ex-Mon). Aircraft remains A343.

Effective 3 January 2010, EK304/305 frequency increases from 6x weekly to Daily. As a result PVG is back to Double-Daily.

Effective 3 September 2009, EK308/309 (DXB-PEK-DXB) will see a frequency increase from 4x weekly to 5x weekly (Daily ex-Tue/Sun). Aircraft remains A343.

Effective 3 January 2010, EK308/309 frequency increases from 5x weekly to Daily. As a result PEK is back to Double-Daily.

Other interesting developments planned. Watch this space.
