Well.. to be completely honest, I live closer to Dusseldorf (40 minutes) then Amsterdam (2 hours), so for me it doesn't really matter. But for the people living in the "randstad" it would be much nicer

Chicago

Keep hearing rumors about Chicago (ORD) as we did a few years back and this would be a very successful route given how they could vacum passengers out of the entire middle of the US.

Looks like EY beat them to it. It's the first example of EY pionering a North American route. EK should get in there before EY gains a threatening market presence, IMO.

According to a very knowledgeable friend of mine, Etihad launched Toronto a whole two years before Emirates.

For those of us who don't know all the flight numbers yet, it seems this flight goes to Hong Kong HKG.

Wow! I didn't realize know that. I'm sure EK will be very successfully route for DXB-CDG-DXB. What about JFK on operated A380 will able coming back anytime soon if the economic will have enough recovery sometime in 2010 or beyond. So unfortunately for EK is swapped for YYZ due to equipment change.

Great that LAD has become a 77W-many people thought that the A332 was too small for that route.
The A380 to CDG is extremely interesting, especially if AF eventually sends the A380 to DXB.

Looks like Emirates has decided to introduce A380 service to Rome from December 2009. It was supposed to be that month but later pushed back to January 2010. And now they're bringing forward.

However, A380 service to Rome operates 4 weekly in Dec 2009, then Daily from Jan 2010

Emirates is swapping aircraft on 1st flight to MXP (EK93/94). A-332 replaces 77W/A-343 until 31Aug09.

This is why I love Flyertalk.
I was able to OLCI for BHX-DXB tomorrow and snagged 2E First Class seat on a 3-class 777 sold as 2 class, on an award ticket no less

A small update to the 2009/10 operating plan:

EK636/637 DXB-PEW-DXB will be upgraded to B777-200 (2-class) aircraft from A330-200 (2-class) aircraft effective 4 August 2009.

Frequency remains 2x weekly.

Separately i'm hearing that the A380 could be back on EK201/202 DXB-JFK-DXB sometime in 1Q 2010 depending on how well loads recover on the route. Nothing finalised yet.
