Thanks for the list of new destinations for Emirates.
A most useful post!
But we are not all as experienced as you!
Or am I the only one on this forum who doesn't know ALL the airport 3 letter codes off by heart
Welcome to FlyerTalk kidoo007 and to the Emirates Forum
Emirates did announce Algiers as a possible destination but nothing has come of it. I presume it will be nonstop, since I dont' think EK has any traffic rights to/beyond Algeria.
I imagine it will be an A330-200 that can go nonstop and that it will be four or five times weekly if/when the service starts.
I have been informed by my friends who work for DNATA and EK Ground Handling at JFK and DXB today that new daily flights to Chicago (ORD) are 100% confirmed to be launched in 2009 using a Boeing 777-300ER.

Had lunch w/ a friend who works at EK HQ before flying back to KHI yesterday afternoon and heard the exact same thing. ORD to DXB will be my preferred route once it gets started. IAH-DXB is just a little too long. SFO-DXB? screw that.

Thanks for the update Emirates777!
Do you have any idea when EK will announce the new European destinations for 2009? I still cross my fingers for Copenhagen - but despite this route has been mentioned as a rumor I have a feeling that it won't be in 2009.

EK097/098 DXB-FCO-DXB aircraft upgrades from B777-300 to A380-800
Wow! I didn't expect to hear that by EK has been upgraded from 773 to A380 aircraft. So is that additional more capacity passengers to become operate on A380. What about FCO will begin constructions more jetbridge is underway?
I think ORD will be reconsiders service from DXB-ORD will operated on 77W aircraft included of A380. I think this is best time where EK will decide looking for PHX, LAS or MIA. It will eventually begin nonstop from DXB-PHX instead of stopover in JFK due to limitation weight restrictions on operated of 777-200LR.
So however, I will not expect try to look for another cities is coming into USA sometimes in the future. I think Mexico should be under consideration for which specific routes will be choose is MEX or CUN.
