Why isn't YYZ operated with a high density plane?
OpUps are crazy on this route. In the past month I know 11 (eleven) people who travlelled DXB-YYZ got opups from Y to J (all EK silver or gold) and 3 (three) who got opuped to F from J (1 EK silver and 2 EK blue.)
F loads have never been strong to Canada and EK clearly needs the high capacity. So why not use a 2-class plane?
Valid point. Exactly how many high-density B77Ws are there? Where are the used. Glasgows one I think.
Does EKs high density planes have a shorter range than the low density ones? YYZ would be about the only "weak" premium market in NA that Emirates serves at the moment.

I wouldn't say Toronto was "weak", just less demanding (in the front end) than JFK/IAH.
The B777-300s (not -300ERs) are equipped in high density layouts with 380 seats in 3 class or 434 in 2 class although the B777-300ER has a 442 2 class config.

As EK Crew I can tell you that it's because the aircraft needs to have crew rest bunks and we don't have any 2 class 777-300s with that facility. I've spoken to the Airport Service Manager in YYZ and she said as soon as we get one that will be the first route using it.

Is that new or refurbished 2 class B777-300ERs for YYZ? Do know when/if the Toronto route is going daily?
My guess would be min 1yr, likely longer.
