Thought i'd provide some updated configuration stats of the 128 passenger aircraft fleet:
Configuration (of total fleet)
-80% are low density config (ie. 3 class aircraft)
-20% are high density config (ie. 2 class aircraft)
In flight entertainment (of total fleet)
-71% has ICE (44% ICE, 27% ICE digital widescreen)
-29% has TV & Radio
Business class seating (of total fleet)
-38% has Lie-flat seats
-24% has deep reclining (777 version)
-30% has sleeperettes (332/343 version)
-8% has sleeperettes (345 version)
First class seating (of the 3-class config. fleet)
-32% has Suites
-32% has SkyCruiser
-36% has sleeperettes (332/343 version)
All future deliveries will have Suites in F and lie-flat seats in J and ICE digital wide screen so expect those percentages to rise further.

Emirates - the right choice or not...??!
Hi,
I'm a pretty frequent traveller in J - usually on North American and South American routes from Europe... I've got a run out to Shanghai later this month which i've booked up with Emirates - and having read some of the notes on here now i'm starting wonder if it was the right choice... It sounds like i'm going to be having a pretty bad time in some rather old fashioned seats and elderly technology... Can anyone put my mind at rest??
26/8 EK006 LHR to DXB
27/8 EK304 DXB to PVG
03/9 EK303 PVG to DXB
04/9 EK001 DXB to LHR
OK - so my last leg is A380... But the others... i've got listed A340's, 777's and 777ER... Can anyone make me feel slightly better for the cash spent on these flights?! I figured Emirates would be flat beds all the way and top-notch IFE - but reading this and words like "sleeperettes" and "TV and Radio" makes me think of 1980's United Airlines....??!
26/8 EK006 LHR to DXB (not sure, someone else can confirm)
27/8 EK304 DXB to PVG (NO ICE, Not lie flat, although pitch is acceptable)
03/9 EK303 PVG to DXB (NO ICE, Not lie flat, although pitch is acceptable)
04/9 EK001 DXB to LHR (nothing to mention here, at least you finish your trip in style )
Emirates Business Class Seat Lottery Unacceptable Bordering Fraudulent
Am sitting in Dubai Emirates Business Class Lounge having just flown in this morning from London on EK006 en route to Dhaka Bangladesh. When we boarded at Heathrow last night I was surprised and very disappointed to see the oldest style business class seats rather than the new full-flat pods with large LCds I saw on my previous Emirates business flight. In fact previous time I flew in June I had the nice new seats both directions DXB-LHR. I actually find bordering on fraudulent/misrepresentation that Emirates continue to persist with this business class seat "lottery". This year I have flown on Eithad business twice to London and also Virgin and BA and seats are always the same and consistent quality. Why does Emirates management believe it is fair and equitable for them to offer a substandard business class product for the same fare as their competitors. I tried to complain to the lady in reservations in the Emirates Lounge and she said I should fill out a form (I'm pretty sure they won't respond). I asked her to check whether my return DXB-LHR on Sep 15 was new or old seats. She could not tell me that either but suggested I check when I get to lounge on Sep 15(not sure what I can do at that stage). I fly London-Dhaka every month business and had tried Eithad twice and was please with previous Emirates experience. But after today's business class seat rip-off there is no reason for me to waste money on Emirates again. I have read of many other passengers who have the same frustration on Emirates with randon seats/planes and poor customer service response. Senior management should stop wasting time on A380 glory purchases and focus on providing high quality consistent service to customers. I for one will be extremely reluctant to travel emirates again unless I have to...

I just had a quick question how reliable is the EK website, i am planning on flying FRA-DXB-ICN and the website say i will have F suites will it be almost certain that i have them then? And are these suites like the suites on the A345 right?
Would anybody know what I am likely to find in J on EK405 (SIN-DXB) at the end of November? All I know it's a 777-300 (not ER).
When I manage my booking it says lie-flat and ICE. However when I look at services by flight on Emirates website it says not lie-flat and not ICE on one page, but possibly lie-flat on another. ICE (or lack of) doesn't really bother me, but lie-flat would be very nice.
I've done a fictional booking and it shows 2 rows in F which I think means this is a lie-flat J. Also, earlier postings in this thread seem to suggest the refitted 777-300's had been going onto this route.
Please let it be lie-flat. Mrs HG is in J on the A380 from BKK to DXB at the same time...

It will depend on the routing, and the aircraft... YOU need to state that, as well, as the class of service. Most of the posts here refer mainly to the premium seats, ie Business or First class.
I travel alot to Dubai from Stockholm with my job. Everytime I have to change plane at Heathrow or Frankfurt etc. Anyone know if Emirates is starting a route to Stockholm?
