on the topic of the Canada (Air Canada) U.A.E. spat.
there's an interesting point in the article.
http://www.ctv.ca/CTVNews/Canada/201...canada-110113/
"Meanwhile, Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff renewed his call to Harper to repair relations with the U.A.E.
"We need to get relations with this strategic ally in the Middle East back on track," Ignatieff said in a statement Thursday.
Ignatieff noted that 200 Canadian companies operate in the U.A.E., while Alberta, Nova Scotia and Ontario have led trade missions to the country.
The U.A.E. is Canada's 12th largest investor at $4.4 billion."
"noir" what does Ignatieff's statement mean? is it a hidden point that if the Canucks throw out the Harper Govt at the next elections May 2, that the Liberals will repair the UAE relations and give Emirates and Etihad some more slots? or irregardless of any electoral result, the Canadian Govt should improve "somehow" the bitter war of words?

As an aside, there will be more interesting developments towards the back end of 2011 and throughout 2012 and beyond as the pace of new aircraft deliveries picks up.

Do you have any specific new routes from DXB-USA lately? I haven't hear a rumors from EK recently. If you found out any more new nonstop from DXB-ATL/IAD/ORD/MIA/DFW. If EK will brings more aircraft to come online sometimes in 2011/12. How many EK has already previously orders the 777-300ER? What about EK will have reconsider to orders more A777-200LR? I believe EK has very successful for DXB-IAH/LAX/SFO. I wasn't sure if EK will deployed on operated A380-800 out of DXB-SFO nonstop due to weight restrictions. The A380 has increased more payload restricted. Maybe EK will have planned to expanding more A380 service for next few years later once more A380 will come online. I knows EK will expected 3 more A380 is delivered in 3rd & 4th quarters 2011. However, EK will accepted 12 or 13 A380 is expecting to deliveries in 2012. EK could have upgrade from 77W to A380 out of DXB-LAX/SFO.
What about EK is still planned to gets double daily on A380 service for DXB-JFK-DXB? How is loads doing so far? Is the economy is improves enough? It will continued to recovery the economy. I would certainly agree if EK will very successful for DXB-JFK-DXB and also, why EK hasn't becomes daily nonstop from DXB-YYZ? I thought the loads is doing extremely very well. It was always oversold for everyday. Can EK will have stepped it up more frequencies from DXB-YYZ?

EK has been asking the Canadian government for additional flights for years now however the Canadian government will not allow the UAE any more flights to YYZ. The UAE are allowed to operate 6 weekly flights to YYZ, 3 are operated by EY, 3 are operated by EK.
