This has caused a nightmare for me as well-
LY didn't advise the agent about the matmid number entry change
In the past you put in 6 ot seven digits with TL (or SL GL PL) and no problems
Amadeus only recognizes 6 digits and you can't put in with TL before-
With the system changeover all Matmids were not recognized if they weren't in the 6 digit format-
I had to take number out and put it in the right way
What agency do you work for? My travel agent when I went to visit, had a guide for Amadeus for agents who do El Al. They seemed to know the process.

I have an Israel-based TA friend who works with Amadeus in general (not just for El Al) and he says that since the change-over he can't grab seats (for PL's and GL's), can't issue bonus tickets, can't re-issue upgraded tickets and that reservations are dropping left and right without rhyme, reason or forewarning.

upgrades will now revert to the original way prior to the move to Amadeus - for all Matmid members - so you can book Z or D and issue M or S and add vouchers

הנדון: שינוי תהליך השדרוג לחבר מועדון הנוסע המתמיד
סוכן/ת יקר/ה,
בעקבות פניות רבות של סוכני נסיעות וחברי מועדון, ועל מנת לשפר את השירות הניתן ללקוחותינו המשותפים, החליטה חברת אל על לשנות את שיטת תהליך השדרוג והזמנת מקום לחברי מועדון הנוסע המתמיד, אשר הייתה נהוגה במעבר למערכת אמדאוס.
אנו שמחים להודיע כי החל מיום א' 25/5/08, ניתן יהיה להזמין את המחלקה המשודרגת מראש (D , Z, A ).
יש להנפיק את כרטיס הטיסה במחלקה המשולמת במחיר הישים (בשדרוג למחלקת עסקים עסקים במחלקות Y, S, M ובשדרוג למחלקה ראשונה במחלקות I ו- C) לפי ה-TIME LIMIT אשר תקבלו במערכת.
בקשה לשדרוג - יש להעביר לשרות לסוכן את מספר שובר השדרוג, מספר כרטיס הטיסה שהונפק על ידכם ושובר התשלום (במקרה הצורך) ע"י פקודת TKTG (בהתאם להנחיות כל GDS).
אנו ממליצים כי את הבקשות לשדרוג תעבירו כ- 10 ימים לפני מועד הטיסה, אולם לא יאוחר מ- 6 שעות לפני מועד הטיסה.
אנו מקווים כי השינוי יקל על עבודתנו המשותפת ויעלה את שביעות הרצון שלכם ושל לקוחותינו המשותפים.

After waiting for the English Letter I finally got it this afternoon-
After I got it from Matmid
So LY sent it to Matmid members before agents!!
