New point accrual for Matmid - Sep 1, 2017

http://www.elal.com/en/FrequentFlyer...L-Flights.aspx

New point accrual amounts for flights starting Sep 1, 2017 - Basically the only changes I can see are for economy flights in K/V classes you will now earn the highest economy point values. Classes Q/B seem to disappear from the chart - does that mean they are no longer going to be valid fare classes or just no longer earning points at all?

Also the changes are effective as of September 1, 2017 - a full year + in advance. Nice of them to give so much advance notice, but never seen an airline publicize such point accrual changes so far in advance.

Not exactly.

They're dropping Q and B booking classes altogether, for some reason, and also booking class W and U - the two most discounted ones which are used for most of the promotions - will not earn points.

So - good news for some business travellers and bad news for most leisure travellers.

Only looks like W is being dropped from point accrual. U remains unchanged on the lowest point accrual level.

Sorry, you're right, of course. Not a drastic change anyway - but basically means all promotional fares will not earn points.

Another race to the bottom in terms of Matmind.

It's really has become a pathetic scheme compared to what it used to be like.

How did you all hear about this? I would've expected to receive some kind of mass e-mail about a change like this...

There was one. Unless maybe you have opted out of receiving emails from Elal.

I haven't opted out. Strange... probably missed it.
