P6 (Privilege Style) 767 to operate on behalf of LY
Starting next week, P6 will operate a 767 on behalf of LY to the EU. Business class will have 18 seats and economy will have 229 seats. There will be no economy plus.
Business class (looks better than LY 767 seats):
Economy class:
Operation starts next week, and will last until the end of August.
Flight list:
http://www.elal.com/SiteCollectionDo...n%202015-3.pdf
That makes an overall of 2 planes wet-leased by LY this summer (see - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/el-al...ights-prg.html )... Just shows how poor their planning is...

Looks just as bad to me.
This is the memo sent out to the agents yesterday
On a separate note, what a shame you broke the 5 days silence on here - I was hoping to reach a week which would be a new record...

Wet lease
I think that what's interesting and important here is that this is a wet lease. Apparently, UP flights to Prague operated by Travel Service, the 767 flights to Europe operated by Privilege Style and -- my travel agent told me today -- also El Al new service to Boston are all wet leased.
What this means is that pax flying El Al are faced with foreign crews, often with no Hebrew speakers on board. This must be quite frustrating for some. I can imagine passengers choosing El Al for a variety of reasons, but "national pride", a (real or perceived) sense of security and the ability to communicate with the crew in Hebrew must be prominent among them.
Here's an item from Haaretz on this (Hebrew):
http://www.haaretz.co.il/tmr/1.2657507
In short, it says that El Al extends its wet least agreements "in spite of passengers protests". "According to passengers, although they purchased tickets with the Israeli airline, they realized they had to fly a foreign carrier".

Re Boston I didn't realise this was a leased aircraft as well.

Why would they? It is not that they will be working less... All of LY planes will be utilized throughout the summer as well.
Also, there will be one LY crew member onboard each of such flight...

I wonder what that does to the Kashrut of regular meals. If the heating carts have been used with non-Kosher food, than the regularly sealed regular Kosher ( versus Regal which is double sealed) will be heated in a non-Kosher environment, making them non-Kosher. ( at least the way I am reading this) That means passengers need to be told up front. ( but they won't be)
