There is no way LY will use either of them... I'm willing to bet on it...
They'll probably do the same as on the 777s and 747s - just increase the pitch...
And the seat maps show 2-2-2 seating which supports my belief.

Hopefully that won't be the case. They use to 767s to other long-haul destinations, such as YYZ, PEK, JNB. On YYZ they compete with AC which flies the 787 with their new seats. HU might also start PEK soon, so LY should improve their product to better compete with them...

Why would you assume they would build something to compete?

They compete with UA to EWR, AA to PHL, and DL to JFK. Compare the premium seats.
BA to LHR.
AC to YYZ for quite some time without them caring.

Even when LH had widebody to Germany they didn't compete well.
Or LX to ZRH

Should LY have taken the 787 "Terrible Teens"?

Sorry - wasn't clear. They don't, but they compete on the TLV-USA routes, and PHL is one of the hubs that people use to connect.

ETA: This was the quickest thing I could come up with to make up since I accidentally added in AA to my list

Absolutely not.

They never flew to PHL. No need with EWR being around 90 miles away.

"Boeing attaches great importance to its relationship with EL AL, which has endured for more than fifty years," said Todd Nelp, vice president of Sales for Europe, Boeing Commercial Airplanes. "We look forward to continuing this partnership and playing a role in EL AL's future."

I dont think there is any question Airbus isnt really a consideration.
