Time to stop flying TK from TLV?
I have been a big fan of TK for quite some time - flying them to Europe several times a year from TLV. I never felt in danger flying them and find them to be better than most airlines. Given Erdogan's recent statements calling Israel more barbaric than Hitler, however, and the protests at the Israeli embassy attended by parliamentarians I think it's time to quit flying TK. It's too bad as I'm sure the fares will be even lower now but I don't think I can give money to a state airline of a state whose leaders behave this way. What do you all think?

I"m with you. They supposedly have excellent flights with low prices from JFK to TLV.( via Turkey) I wouldn't even consider it!

I have no problem flying other countries' airlines - because OUR airline sucks and often costs double the price of other airlines, but I think I'll just have to limit it to countries whose leaders don't compare us to the Nazis.

No, I am not paid by anyone.
But when I fly to Israel, I fly LY (anyway, from CDG, do I have the choice?).
I prefer to give my money to Israel

I doubt TK is problematic to fly. As long as you're staying the airport, you should definitely be fine as the airport and airline remain very professional. Judging by previous flare-ups, may be helpful to have an additional passport.
Though the question of whether or not to SUPPORT a Turkish company and Turkish airport is an individual decision, probably best left for OMNI/PR.

Well, is TK is owned by the Turkish govt? nope.
Would you consider flying LH given their past? or LX? or for that matter OU/LO?

I am a strong proponent of free and fair competition, however the recent comments made by the Turkish PM, which come on the heels of years of overtly anti-Israeli and anti-Jewish actions, are beyond reprehensible and make a mockery of history. Consequently, I believe Jews and Israelis are not safe flying TK to/from Israel and even if we are I think we should not financially support an airline from a nation, who itself is guilty of a Nazi genocide against one of it's own minorities, and which has the edacity to maintain this despicable mouthpiece in high public office.
