2 more 738s for El Al

El Al has received earlier this month 2 more 738s: 4X-EKM and 4X-EKR, both built in 2000 (first dd to Thomson, UK).
I am a bit surprised that nobody talked about it in this forum

Seems that elal haven't made this public officialy, they have enough sense not te be proud of buying old planes from cheap low cost carriers, instead of investing in a new modern fleet.

I don't know if LY has fitted those a/c with winglets (they didn't have winglets before)

No sign of these aircraft yet on "libhomeradar" or "airlinersnet", I assume they haven't entered service yet.

For me, LY is still the best option.
Flyng on a 777 or a 744 for a 4 hour flight is pretty good (I avoid the other a/c, although I sometimes land on a 767), compared to the crappy AF A320s...

I assume ELAL meant new rather than modern, these 738s are 12 years old...

It's still better than their 24-year old 752s that have just exited the fleet...

Well yes, but the difference is the 757s have been on the fleet for years while these 738s are newly purchased...

I actually love the 757s - nothing can beat that take off! (Well perhaps Concorde could...).
