elal prices , next passover
wanted to book reward tickets for passover 2011.
elal charges 1400 points + 300$ for adult/child
and i can only reach NYC with that... (i want to go to miami/orlando)
i have enough points for 3 tix. one has to be fully paid.
so with ElaL:
3 X 300 (cash suplement) + 3 X 1400 points + 1500$ adult tix + 4 X 150$ (tix JFK-MIAMI/ORLANDO). totals: 3000$ + 4200 points
with Iberia, adult 902$, child (under 12) 790$ going to miami, return from JFK
(and TLV-Spain is with elal itself )
Totals: 3 X 902 + 1 X 790 = 3496$
and if i could put the MIA/MCO - JFK leg on the iberia ticket somehow, the diff becomes non existant.
although it's not the same exact product, it seems that my 4200 points are worth 500$ in this comination. better to sell it to someone even for 0.5$/point.

At least in this case it isn't the same product, I'm fraustrated why the flight I'm taking shortly between TLV-BRU is around $150 cheaper when going with Brussels Airines?, I really would like to stick to ELAL but a 25% price difference is too much!

That IB fare is very good, and seems to be $925 TLV-MIA-TLV. The connections are even decent.
I think you've found a deal, and suspect that it won't last too long.
It could be that LY are aware when Pesach is but IB isn't...

the only problem - this fair is non-refundable (but can be changed for a fee)

Just make sure that you book yourself through Europe on the way to the United States so that they check the luggage straight through (otherwise, you must collect it in New York, Newark or Toronto to go through customs). On the way to Israel, you can check it in in Florida and it will go straight to Tel Aviv.

Its true that you cannot book to miami with points but soon you will be able (I just checked for myself, flying next month with the family (and an aviation cretified seat!) and was told that in 6 months i will be able to use EL-AL points on AA..., But this doesnt help me now! 8-()
Lets see you trying to switch dates on Iberia at those prices, In EL-AL it wont
cost you a dime...
And what about the benefits of complaining on this forum after your flight?!
(BTW, Miami to Orlando, I recommend Spirit Airlines...)

Doesn't El Al and AA have codeshares? So flying LY connecting with AA to Maimi would award you the most miles
