Re: AA points C TLV-HKG ; HKG-EWR. I booked via AA call center. Since CX awards cannot be booked on line, AA did not charge their customary fee to speak with an agent. I booked in February, the day that CX loaded the TLV-HKG flight.

Did they have any trouble with availability? Agent couldn't find even 1 seat, regardless of date, and regardless of cabin (F, C, and Y).

I had no trouble whatsoever with availability but, as I said, I called AA the same day the flight was loaded. What did surprise me was the easy availability of the HKG-EWR C seat. Took a few tries on the CX site to request kosher meals on both legs but eventually the request was confirmed.

Interesting article. Didn't realize the government was giving 250,000 Euro grants for new routes - this explains all the random new routes from Wizz and Ryanair. Also, it mentions Eurowings which I know used to fly to CGN (I was somewhat of a regular on that one) but I haven't heard any announcements from them...Not to mention "Envelop" and Cobalt Air - airlines I have never heard of.
