El Al loses monopoly on Thailand flights (Globes - English) Headline is slightly click-bait as no one is yet joining the market, but Israel and Thailand signed an open skies agreement that allows each country to operate up to 28 weekly flights between the 2 countries with no restrictions. We'll see if TG decides to join the mix

DEB will be great for many Israeli medical students. Much more convenient compared to commuting to BUD.

RYANAIR LAUNCHES LOW FARES IN TEL AVIV
23 Dec 2016
DAILY FLIGHTS TO PAPHOS BEGIN IN MARCH

Ryanair, Europe’s favourite airline, today (23 Dec) announced its first Tel Aviv flights, with a new daily service to Paphos (Cyprus) starting next March*, which will deliver 100,000 customers p.a. at Ben Gurion Airport, Ryanair’s 2nd Israeli destination.

From March, Ryanair’s Tel Aviv schedule will deliver:

1 new route to Paphos (daily)
7 weekly flights
100,000 customers p.a.

Ryanair celebrated its new Tel Aviv flights by releasing seats to Paphos for sale at prices starting from just €28.99 for travel in April and May, which are available for booking until midnight Monday (26 Dec).

Ryanair’s Chief Commercial Officer, David O’Brien said:

“Ryanair is pleased to announce that low fares have arrived in Tel Aviv, our 2nd Israeli airport, with a new daily route to Paphos commencing on 28th March*, which will help deliver 100,000 annual customers at Ben Gurion Airport. Our Paphos route will be ideal for both families and leisure customers.

Ryanair customers can look forward to even lower fares when they make advance bookings for summer 2017, so there’s never been a better time to book a low fare flight on Ryanair and we urge all customers who wish to book their summer 2017 holidays to do so now on the Ryanair.com website.

To celebrate our new Tel Aviv route, we are releasing seats to Paphos for sale from just €28.99 for travel in April and May, which are available for booking until midnight Monday (26 Dec). Since these amazing low prices will be snapped up quickly, customers should log onto www.ryanair.com and avoid missing out.”

Thanks for the tip here - I was able to buy tickets for the family in May at the 28.99 price last Friday. Well before this deal was publicized in other forums (like Dansdeals).
