Isn't an Airbus A320 rather small for a flight from TLV to Sri Lanka?
Will be interesting who will do the security screening in Sri Lanka for the returning passengers? or will agents come with for the return?

TUS Airways - TLV & HFA to LCA

So while it was previously announced that TUS Airways would be flying between TLV and LCA, what I had not heard was that they would also be flying between HFA (Haifa) and LCA.

http://tusairways.com/

Schedule is here: https://storage.aerocrs.com/252/syst...20Schedule.jpg

Looks like they may also expand flights to Eilat in the summer as that is listed as one of their destinations on their website.

Right now they are flying a Saab 340 Turboprop, but it sounds like they will soon be aquiring an Embraer Regional Jet.

TUS Airways - 22 Flight coupon book for TLV/HFA-LCA

The price doesn't seem like such a great deal however, but perhaps having the flexibility makes it worthwhile for frequent business travelers. Plus having the Haifa option could be very valuable for some people.

That's excellent news, especially for Haifa. Though I don't understand their schedules (same flight numbers for TLV and HFA? And flights that never return...)

On the dates I searched, HFA-LCA-HFA was 120 euro. Not bad at all, given the convenience of HFA.

Yes, it's quite an old airport dating back to the British mandate, it's extremely small AFAIK.
Arkia "won" a government contract many years ago to operate flights to/from it but they lost a considerable amount of money due to that binding deal. I'm surprised anyone decided to give it another try.
Prices seems really high to me but on the other hand it would be great to fly it since they are using a Short-360, an aircraft I never had a chance to fly with.

36 seats I believe. it's a SD3-60.
Only 13 are still in service worldwide, a unique plane to fly IMO.

The Eilat flights seems to be via SDV. But what is really ambitious is the plan to fly RPN to MTZ

I have flown the shorts 360. 25 years ago United Express flew them to CHO from IAD. It looks like they kept the box and threw away the airplane.

TUS flights HFA LCA

I don't understand their schedules either. Yesterday (Monday) at 17:00 their Saab 340 was on the ramp in Haifa - completely closed up for overnight stay (pitot covers etc).
