Dollar or Thrifty at Honolulu (HNL)?
Hello,
I would like your input which company is better to go with at HNL - Dollar or Thrifty? The prices are the same for Jeep Wrangler at both companies - about $285 for 9 days.
Thank You

Since you are asking in the Dollar forum, you are probably going to get responses that are pro-Dollar of course.
I haven't rented a car at HNL in a long time, but this page says there are only six rental car companies on airport property. Dollar is in the list but Thrifty is off-site, meaning you will need to take a shuttle bus. I hate shuttle buses so I would go with Dollar.
You might also try Enterprise if you are shopping for competitive quotes. Thrifty, Dollar and Enterprise are all about the same when it comes to prices at HNL. And Enterprise is on-site.

Update: unhappy with Dollar at HNL
Friends got to HNL yesterday and are very angry and upset with customer service for Dollar. The rep refused to add additional drivers - wanted $12/person per day, didn't want to upgrade either. They paid for 2 door Wrangler, but asked for 4 door. Ended up paying over $400 for the 2 door Wrangler for 9 days with insurance.
I suggested to cancel their Dollar reservation at OGG based on HNL experience.
This is contrary to experience with National at LAX, which was excellent. Ended up with mini van for $206 for 5 days. There was a huge number of small SUV's for 4 people, but we needed a larger car.
