Had some McDonalds and KFC in Hong Kong...very disappointed in both myself and the burger, but KFC was delicious; a completely different menu to North America.
Had a KFC down the street from where I lived in Seoul ages ago. The feet and head addition was nifty.
Some years ago we were traveling as a family in Europe and one night while in Switzerland we found between us we had a reasonable amount of German coins (pre Euro days) that we had collected in small change. We weren't intending to go back to Germany but as we were on Eurail passes we just hoped the train to the nearest German town, walked into the Maccas at the train station there, had dinner and hoped a train back to Switzerland. So if I meet any Germans who ask if I have been to Germany I say "yes, twice, once for a holiday and once for a Big Mac!"
The tempora shrimp burger was outstanding at McD in NRT (not American fast food, but in an American fast food outfit).
Italy salad at McD in Rome was great.
Did KFC in Beijing. Nothing memorable, just good.
Will do it again when I am in any of these places.
I do enjoy the consistency of the McD coffee almost anywhere outside of the US.

As far as coffee goes - every Starbucks I've been to, from Seattle to Seoul, has served me exactly the same coffee with 100% consistency. I find that amazing.
I avoid McDonalds like the plague, but when I'm in London I find myself eating a lot of Subway for some reason. Usually because it's cheap, fast, and has little wait.
Sept 2008- DUB, I was pressed for time time and didn't eat before the OMD concert. By the time it was over, there weren't many choices in the area, so I caved and went to Burger King at about 11:30pm.
Ugh!!! $11 for a Whopper combo meal!!!
March 2008-PEK, I got tired of Chinese food after several days, and after seeing a KFC on every other corner, got a craving for something different. The mashed potatoes and gravy I had was tasted like mashed potatoes with oyster sauce. I could only eat one or two bites and then threw the rest out. Other than that, it was also one of the few places that serve Pepsi.
Local Fast Food While Traveling
I like to try the "local" quick serve when I travel to see what it's about.
On my trip to DUB (above) I "heard" Besshoff's Fish & Chips was a good choice. Unfortunately, I'd have to disagree with Besshoff's being a good choice. The fried cod still had the skin on it, the food was luke warm and not crispy. Cost $11.
I have to say I've never ever fallen into the fast food trap while travelling. I'll admit part of me is tempted to be the food snob and turn my nose up at McDicks while travelling in other countries, but it's mainly because I plan a lot of my trips around hitting specific restaurants. And I hate Starbuck's coffee, so avoiding that isn't an issue.
And I can't really call myself THAT much of a food snob - I had kraft Velveeta Shells & Cheese for dinner last night :P
